WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE INADEQUATE TO VIEW OBJECTS OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE INCLUDING MAILBOXES, VEHICLES, OR ANIMALS THAT MAY BE ON THE ROAD. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE SHIFTING FROM DRIVE INTO PARK AT 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED FORWARD. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO ANOTHER PARKED VEHICLE, AND EVENTUALLY STOPPED 30 FEET AWAY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THROUGH ONLINE RESEARCH, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V527000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) FOR THE 2004 SRX, WHICH WAS IDENTICAL TO THE FAILURE WITH HIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 11,000.
