Owner report 11480998 · 2022-08-24 (August 24, 2022)

This vehicle stalls intermittently when it comes to a full stop. This problem still exists and last occurred on June 27, 2022. The vehicle has an intermittent issue (unpredictable with months, or minutes in between). Weather and road conditions have varied. Location has varied as well. Dates of occurrence are February 13, 2022; March 12, 2022 (occurred twice within a 20-minute time span); and June 27. The vehicle stalls when it comes to a full stop (on all four occasions, this has occurred at a red light). The check engine light and the power s…

Owner report 11514859 · 2023-03-31 (March 31, 2023)

I was on my way back home from work. I stopped at a red light, when my car suddenly shut off and started making a noise and then the monitor said: engine failure and power steering low. I could not move the steering wheel. Everyone was honking at me because I was in the middle of the road with the car shut off. I put the car on parking and then I was able to turn it on again. It is concerning that the car shut off. This is clearly a safety problem with The Toyota Corolla Cross. The dealership seems to not want to deal with the problem. Other …

Owner report 11663820 · 2025-05-29 (May 29, 2025)

It was around 7pm. It was raining & wipers were on. Auto stop/start setting is on. I was at a stop light waiting to turn left. The light turns green and I try to go, but the engine stalled. I was unable to move forward into the lane, and turn the wheel. A sign on the dashboard showed up saying "engine stopped, steering power low". I try to the turn the wheel and was unable to, I tried to turn off the engine and the car shuts off. I turn the key again to start the car but it wasn't starting. It was about 3 min until the car engine throttles on a…

Owner report 11525372 · 2023-06-05 (June 5, 2023)

I was stopped at a red light in a very light rain with intermittent wipers going. Engine stopped as it does when stopped. When light turned green and I pressed the gas, nothing happened. Car rolled forward but due to grade not engine. Display message said something like Engine stopped. Press brake firmly. That’s all I remember. There was a car behind me honking loudly and frequently. I sat there for a minute or two trying to get the engine going again. Y moving the shifter. I was able to take the car in and out of park multiple times,…

Owner report 11525770 · 2023-06-07 (June 7, 2023)

My brand new 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross has 2 issues: 1) The 'pre-collision' feature brakes when I don't need it to. I told Toyota that I've almost got into car accidents but they said they 'can't turn it off'. 2) There is paint peeling from my front bumper for no reason. Brian Kessler at Marietta Toyota said “it's likely because when I ordered my car in 'white', the bumper was black, so they painted it without primer”. They keep telling me that "they'll call me regarding this issue", but they haven't. This vehicle's pre-collision system is o…

Owner report 11564998 · 2024-01-11 (January 11, 2024)

The engine stopped working. Happened already 4th time and on the fourth time I was reversing to park in the parking garage and engine suddenly stopped. Dashboard lights are on but couldn’t start the car. After two minutes and fourth attempt it did start. The third repair toyota mentioned they couldn’t duplicate the concern and my car is working fine till this happened. They don’t want to admit there’s something wrong because every time I bring it to them it’s working. So they keep telling me that they couldn’t find any problem. It’s really dang…

Owner report 11575285 · 2024-03-04 (March 4, 2024)

While driving the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross on the highway, my car’s dashboard indicated a warning stating “12-Volt Battery Charging; System Malfunction Stop in a Safe Place; See Owner’s Manual.” I immediately got off the highway and called Toyota Roadside Assistance to get the car towed to the dealership. I was informed the following day, the Corolla Cross is not putting out enough battery to its alternator, and causing the car to not be safe to drive. To this date, the car is still in the dealership after 70+ days and I have logged a formal…
