THERE WERE NO EVENTS LEADING TO THE FAILURE. THIS IS THE 2ND SUCH FAILURE I HAVE EXPERIENCED. WHEN APPROACHING A STOPLIGHT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC I WAS DOWNSHIFTING THE MOTORCYCLE USING THE ENGINE TO DECELERATE. THE CLUTCH CABLE SNAPPED WITHOUT WARNING WITH THE MOTORCYCLE STILL IN GEAR. I WAS ABLE TO LOCK US THE BRAKES AND KILL THE MOTOR BEFORE RUNNING INTO THE BACK OF A CAR. THIS IS THE 2ND CLUTCH CABLE ON THIS MOTORCYCLE THAT HAS FAILED IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS. PURCHASED THE BIKE IN LATE JUNE WITH LESS THAN 1800 MILES. GOT A VIBRATION FEEL & SMALL TAPPING NOISE A COUPLE DAYS LATER. TOOK BACK TO DEALER & THEY DIDN'T FEEL IT OR HEAR IT. THEN IN SEPT WENT FOR A SHORT RIDE WITH A FRIEND & IT STARTED KNOCKING & TRYING TO STALL OUT. CALLED THE DEALER & WITH LOTS OF PROBLEMS FINALLY GOT THEM TO DIAGNOSE IT. IT NEEDS THE MOTOR REBUILT WITH PISTONS, RODS & CRANK. THEY HAD DONE THE TURN UP & CHANGED THE OIL BEFORE WE PICKED IT UP AFTER PURCHASE AND THEY DIDN'T SEEM TO SEE ANY PROBLEMS THEN.
