Owner report 10208433 · 2007-11-08 (November 8, 2007)
THERE WERE NO EVENTS LEADING TO THE FAILURE. THIS IS THE 2ND SUCH FAILURE I HAVE EXPERIENCED. WHEN APPROACHING A STOPLIGHT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC I WAS DOWNSHIFTING THE MOTORCYCLE USING THE ENGINE TO DECELERATE. THE CLUTCH CABLE SNAPPED WITHOUT WARNING WITH THE MOTORCYCLE STILL IN GEAR. I WAS ABLE TO LOCK US THE BRAKES AND KILL THE MOTOR BEFORE RUNNING INTO THE BACK OF A CAR. THIS IS THE 2ND CLUTCH CABLE ON THIS MOTORCYCLE THAT HAS FAILED IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS. AFTER THE FIRST OCCURRENCE I JUST THOUGHT MAYBE I HAD A BAD PART. I REPLACED IT AN…

Owner report 10648951 · 2014-10-20 (October 20, 2014)
PURCHASED THE BIKE IN LATE JUNE WITH LESS THAN 1800 MILES. GOT A VIBRATION FEEL & SMALL TAPPING NOISE A COUPLE DAYS LATER. TOOK BACK TO DEALER & THEY DIDN'T FEEL IT OR HEAR IT. THEN IN SEPT WENT FOR A SHORT RIDE WITH A FRIEND & IT STARTED KNOCKING & TRYING TO STALL OUT. CALLED THE DEALER & WITH LOTS OF PROBLEMS FINALLY GOT THEM TO DIAGNOSE IT. IT NEEDS THE MOTOR REBUILT WITH PISTONS, RODS & CRANK. THEY HAD DONE THE TURN UP & CHANGED THE OIL BEFORE WE PICKED IT UP AFTER PURCHASE AND THEY DIDN'T SEEM TO SEE ANY PROBLEMS THEN. DON'T KNOW HOW IT CO…

Owner report 10451971 · 2012-03-16 (March 16, 2012)
THE RECTIFIER FOR MY 2007 M109R (VZR1800) IS FAILING TO CHARGE MY BATTERY. I REPLACED THE BATTERY, ASSUMING THIS WAS THE REASON THE BATTERY KEPT DIEING, BUT THIS WAS OBVIOUSLY NOT THE PROBLEM. UPON INVESTIGATING "SIMILAR" PROBLEMS WITH ALMOST EVERY OTHER SUZUKI MOTORCYCLE, THE PROBLEM IS THE RECTIFIER AND AT A REPLACEMENT COST OF $ 235.00 WITHOUT LABOR, THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE ! I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE M109R WASN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AS I AND MANY OTHER M109R OWNERS ARE QUESTIONING IS A KNOWN DEFECT. *TR
