Owner report 11404336 · 2021-03-22 (March 22, 2021)

WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 60 MPH, THE A WARNING MESSAGE APPEARED STATING "ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ERROR / PARK VEHICLE IN A SAFE PLACE." FORTUNATELY WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER BEFORE LOSING RESPONSIVENESS. VEHICLE THEN WENT INTO PARK STATUS WITH NO ABILITY TO DRIVE. THEN RECEIVED MESSAGE THAT 12V BATTERY IS LOW. VERY UNSAFE BECAUSE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER IN A HIGH-SPEED DRIVING SITUATION

Owner report 11418381 · 2021-05-24 (May 24, 2021)

The day after receiving my Taycan 4S I took it for a drive and during the drive electrical system error popped up on the dashboard. Before we were able to pull over off the highway the car suddenly shut off and came to an instant stop. Being stuck in the middle right of the highway without even hazard lights working meant multiple cars had to swerve out of the way to avoid hitting us. I am not exaggerating when I say we could have died. Porsche road side assistance was horrible and unable to assist us in the moment. So the police were able to c…

Owner report 11430353 · 2021-08-24 (August 24, 2021)

I am getting a warning and sometimes unwanted braking. the warning is that driver must assume control but this happens when I have all the driver's assist features turned off. on a recent 1500 mile road trip this fault happened at least 10 times at highway speeds.

The vehicle would loose braking pressure after a few minutes of driving. This occurred when the vehicle transitions from regenerative braking to standard braking. Dealer states it is a problem with the brake booster.

Owner report 11418975 · 2021-05-29 (May 29, 2021)

I was stopped at a red light on a busy street with no-one behind me, one or two seconds before the light changed to green the car shut down with no error message or warning. By then vehicles had caught up to where I was stalled out at the light and had to swerve to go around me. After about ten seconds I was able to get the car started again and to drive off safely. The vehicle has been at the Porsche dealer for the past three weeks saying they can't duplicate the issue and have not "had time" to install the updates to fix numerous other glit…

Owner report 11419756 · 2021-06-05 (June 5, 2021)

While driving i experienced a sudden loss of power, I was traveling on an interstate going approximately 75 mph when the car suddenly and without warning came to a sudden stop by itself causing multiple cars to swerve and endangering myself and multiple other drivers. The car restarted shortly afterwards however I was at a complete stop in the middle of traffic, I then experienced this problem yet again, this time I was going slowly; however, I was in the middle of an intersection and had to once again restart the car after it experienced a sud…

Owner report 11421347 · 2021-06-17 (June 17, 2021)

I bought the car on April 22, 2021 and driven the new car approx. 250 miles and on a short trip of 2 miles, the car stuttered and shook briefly and a yellow warning light appeared on the main dash. It said something like "engine control issue, is drivable, take to workshop" so I proceeded, a mile later I pulled into the driveway of a relative and the yellow warning turned red and started beeping repeatedly. It said the "car could not go into park". I blocked the back wheel and turned the car off, locked it and came back about 3-4 hours later. T…

Owner report 11658019 · 2025-04-30 (April 30, 2025)

On April 23, 2024, while decelerating gently at a traffic light, I heard a loud “thump” sound from the rear of my 2021 Porsche Taycan. Immediately, the vehicle lost access to the Reverse (R) and Park (P) gears. I was able to slowly coast into a nearby parking lot, but then all gear positions (Drive, Reverse, Neutral, Park) became completely unresponsive. The vehicle was immobilized and had to be towed. At the time of failure, the vehicle had just under 45,000 miles and had received routine maintenance and a recall inspection at a Porsche Cente…

Owner report 11584353 · 2024-04-21 (April 21, 2024)

I was driving N/B 101 freeway w my wife at approx 70 mph. I felt the rear end slip ever so slightly and thought maybe I somehow lost traction w the road. I continued driving and it occurred twice more in the span of a few miles. I then realized it was unlikely I continued to lose traction with the road. I told my wife something felt wrong and began to maneuver from the #1 lane to the shoulder. I slowed to 50 mph and continued straight w my foot off the accelerator and the brake with both hands on the steering wheel in a straight (non turni…
