TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 PLYMOUTH PROWLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE LOSS POWER AND STALLED WITH NO WARNING SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT FORCE HAD TO BE APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL EACH TIME THE FAILURE OCCURRED BEFORE IT WOULD RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSIS. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06E088000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,500.

AUTOSTICK MODE IS CONSTANTLY BEING DISABLED REVERTING TO AUTOMATIC MODE CAUSING ERRATIC SHIFTING AND SUDDEN BURST OF ACCELERATION AND DIFFICULTIES CONTROLLING SPEED OF VEHICLE. PREVIOUSLY HAPPENED ON A LONG HOT DRIVE IN TRAFFIC, ACCORDING TO THE OWNER'S MANUAL THE SYSTEM DETECTED POWER TRAIN OVERHEATING. NOW THE CAR SHIFTS GEARS AT WILL OVERRIDING DRIVER CONTROL. THERE'S DEFINITELY SOMETHING DEFECTIVE WITH THE AUTOSTICK CONTROLS. *NLM

1ST. THING I NOTICED A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO WAS THE STEERING OF THE CAR WAS GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO CONTROL, AND I WAS HEARING CRACKING AND POPPING NOISES COMMING FROM THE FRONT END BUT I NOR ANYONE ELSE WHO ALSO HEARD THE NOISES COULD TELL JUST WHERE THEY WERE COMMING FROM , AND I OWN A CAR LIFT BUT EVAN AFTER MANY MANY INSPECTIONS I COULD NEVER SEE ANYTHING WRONG OR OUT OF PLACE , I WAS TOLD THAT MY STEERING RACK WAS MAKING A LOT OF NOISE SO I HAD AND ALINEMENT DONE AND WAS TOLD THAT I DID HAVE ( SOMETHING WRONG ) BUT THEY DID NOT NO WHA…
