DT: CONSUMER STATES THAT DUTCHMEN THOR PRODUCES A CAMPER, TAB, AND THEY HAVE AN ALCO BRAKE SYSTEM THAT THEY HAVE MODIFIED. THEY STATE IT HAS NOT BEEN MODIFIED. ACCORDING TO ALCO IN UNITED KINGDOM, THE COMPANY IS SETTING UP THE SYSTEM WRONG ON THE VEHICLE. WHEN HE TRIES TO GET INFORMATION FROM DUTCHMEN THOR THEY SEND HIM THE MANUAL FOR THE GERMAN BRAKE SYSTEM. ON THE TOE SHAFT, THE DAMPENING UNIT, IT IS SUPPOSE TO SLIDE BACK AND HIT AN OVERRUN LEVER THAT IS HOW IT IS BEING SET UP IN THE US. ON THE MANUAL, THERE IS NO CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE …

A FEW DAYS AGO AN AIR LEAK NOISE WAS CALLED TO MY ATTENTION AND ON EXITING THE COACH IT WAS PRETTY OBVIOUS THAT SOMETHING WAS AMISS. I PERFORMED THE PRESCRIBED AIR LEAK TEST AND FOUND THAT WE DID INDEED HAVE A MASSIVE AIR LEAK. MAKING OUR WAY (VERY CAREFULLY!) TO THE FONTANA, CA FTL FACILITY, THEY WERE ABLE TO FIND THAT THE AIR HOSES TO THE TWO REAR AIR BRAKE CHAMBERS HAD BEEN RUBBING TOGETHER AND PRODUCED A HOLE IN ONE HOSE AND VERY NEARLY IN THE OTHER. THIS WAS WITH ONLY 14,000 MILES AND 26 MONTHS ON THE COACH! *TR

THE FIBERGLASS BATTERY CASE FOR THE RV'S (2) 6 VOLT BATTERIES AND (1) 12 VOLT BATTERY IS TOO THIN TO SUPPORT THE WEIGHT AND ROAD VIBRATION CAUSING THE CASE TO CRACK AND A STRONG POTENTIAL FOR THE BATTERY(S) FALLING TO THE ROADWAY WHILE TRAVELING. MY PARTICULAR BATTERY CASE IS APPROXIMATELY 1/16TH OF AN INCH THICK. THE MIDDLE BATTERY WOULD HAVE FALLEN THROUGH HAD IT NOT WEDGED AGAINST THE BACK WALL AS IT FELL THROUGH THE BROKEN BATTERY COMPARTMENTED BOTTOM. I SPOKE TO NATIONAL RV IN PERRIS, CALIFORNIA. FREIGHTLINER MOTOR HOME DIESEL PUSHER CHASSIS (FCCC XC CHASSIS LIGHTBAR CONTROL UNITS) THE LOW AIR BRAKE PRESSURE LIGHT AND ALARM ACTIVATES ON ELECTRONIC CONTROL LIGHT BAR. GAUGES FLUCTUATE INDICATING THE LOSS OF AIR BRAKE PRESSURE AND POSSIBLE LOSS OF AIR PRESSURE IN BRAKE SYSTEM WITH POSSIBLE LOSS OF BRAKE APPLICATION.
