WHILE SLOWLY ACCELERATING THE TRANSMISSION MADE A LOUD BANG AND THE CAR SLOWED TO A CRAWL IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION NEARLY CAUSING A MAJOR ACCIDENT, STEERING WAS NEARLY GONE AS WELL WITH NO RESPONSE FROM ACCELERATOR. THE VEHICLE DISPLAY ALSO SAID IT LOST COMMUNICATION WITH THE KEY WHICH WAS IN THE VEHICLE.

THE STEERING COLUMN STALK CONTROLS DRIVE, REVERSE, NEUTRAL AND PARKING. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE ON AN INCLINE IN A PARKING LOT. I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. I SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING. I THOUGHT I PUSHED THE PARK BUTTON BUT THE CAR ROLLED BACK INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE.

ELECTRONIC SHIFTIER ISSUE. CAR WILL NOT DO WHAT IS BEING INPUT TO THE SHIFTIER. PARTICULAR ISSUE WHEN GOING FROM PARK TO DRIVE, DRIVE TO REVERSE, OR PARK TO DRIVER OR REVERSE. (NOTE THAT THE PRESSURE ON BRAKE PEDAL HAS ALWAYS SEEMED EXCESSIVE TO ME. HAVE HAD ISSUE WHERE CAR GOES INTO NEUTRAL WHEN TRYING TO PLACE THE SHIFTIER INTO PARK. I hydroplaned when driving in rainy weather and slid across freeway. Apparently break assist activated and automatically applied break. The car spun around and hit concrete barrier and then slid again across the freeway. At that point, a message was on display reading Collision Prevention Assist Plus Inoperative See Owners Manual. My vehicle had power but wouldn’t respond to the gas pedal and would not accelerate. I was unable to move vehicle out way of oncoming traffic. Backup Camera randomly power cycle while the transmission is in REVERSE. It was listed for recall for 2019-2021 models vehicle and it has showed up in my 2018 GLC 300. Contacted Dealer multiple times and was told software update would have fix it. Left the vehicle with dealer multiple times and each time was told software update has been performed per manufacturer instruction. Yet the problem continue.
