TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MASERATI QUATTROPORTE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY STIFF WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE AN EXTREME LEFT OR RIGHT TURN. WHILE DRIVING 25-30 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED AND THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. WHEN APPROACHING A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC SIGNAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD SLOW DOWN AND SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. THE VEHICLE MUST THEN BE RECHARGED AND RESTARTED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED THREE TIMES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MASERATI QUATTROPORTE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TO ENGAGE CAUSING THE CONTACT TO LOSE CONTROL AND CRASH INTO A CONCRETE BARRIER. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR WAS THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.

The systems that failed is the emergency parking brake, as well as, the tire pressure monitoring system. Both systems would be available for inspection on request. Due to the failure of the emergency parking brake places not only the safety of others but myself, as well, at risk in the event of an emergency braking situation. 1. Initial Symptom: Strong fuel smell in passenger compartment and trunk. Investigation by Maserati specialist: fuel leaking from top plastic component of fuel pump, fuel stains down side of metal fuel tank, accumulation of fuel in trunk spare tire compartment below fuel tank. 2. Temporary Repair: Plastic fuel pump component was re-bonded using Locktite 406 as recommended by Locktite corporate chemist. Leak reoccurred within 2 years. 3. WHILE DRIVING ON A PUBLIC STREET, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER AND FAILED TO RESPOND TO ACCELERATOR INPUT, EVENTUALLY STALLING.
