Owner report 10985960 · 2017-05-16 (May 16, 2017)

THIS BEING MY 2ND GAS TANK FROM KTM, AFTER EACH TIME I FILL THE GAS TANK WITH FUEL AND CONTINUING UNTIL THE TANK IS LESS THAN HALF FULL, WHILE RIDING THE MOTORCYCLE, FUEL IS FORCED OUT ONTO THE SURFACE OF THE TANK FROM AROUND THE MOUNTING PLATE/SYSTEM WHERE THE GAS CAP ASSEMBLY IS MOUNTED TO THE TOP OF THE TANK, AND THE GAS RUNS DOWN THE TANK AND ON TOP OF THE MOTOR. EVEN WHEN PARKED AND NOT RUNNING, GAS FUMES ARE COMING THROUGH THE MOUNTING SYSTEM. IT APPEARS THAT THE MOUNTING PLATE OF THE TANK IS WARPING BECAUSE OF THE PLASTIC TANK, NOT ALL…

Owner report 11001844 · 2017-06-28 (June 28, 2017)

THE FUEL TANK LEAKS FROM THE GAS CAP. ALSO, THIS IS NOT MY FIRST KTM, WHICH HAS HAD A LEAKING GAS CAP. IT'S MY 3RD ONE. THIS ISSUE IS VERY WELL-DOCUMENTED ON THE FORUMS AS WELL AS ON YOUTUBE. GASOLINE POURS RIGHT OUT OF THE GAS CAP ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS FULL OR WHEN ACCELERATING OR DECELERATING BRISKLY. I AM FAIRLY CERTAIN THIS IS AN ISSUE TO DO WITH THE HIGH ETHANOL CONTENT PRESENT IN ALL U.S. GAS. THE STANDARD FUEL IS E10, WHICH MEANS 90% GASOLINE AND 10% ETHANOL. THERE HAS ALREADY BEEN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST DUCATI IN THE PAST FO…

Owner report 11001845 · 2017-06-28 (June 28, 2017)

THE MOTORCYCLE STALLS VERY OFTEN MOST PROMINENTLY WHEN BRAKING AGGRESSIVELY AND PULLING IN THE CLUTCH TO STOP. THE BIKE WILL ALSO SOMETIMES STALL RANDOMLY WHEN OPERATING AT ENGINE SPEEDS BELOW 3,000 RPM. THE THROTTLE RESPONSE IS ALSO EXTREMELY JERKY BELOW 4,000 RPM LIKE AN ON/OFF SWITCH MAKING THE MOTORCYCLE NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO RIDE. I HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH 2008 KTM 690 SMC AND IN NEARLY A DECADE, THE ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. UNACCEPTABLE.

Owner report 11423851 · 2021-07-07 (July 7, 2021)

Fuel Leaks from filler neck when accelerating after filling the tank. Also, water enters the tank from rain, or washing the motorcycle. Bike ran perfectly before the rainy season started here in FL. After two weeks of commuting in the rain every day the bike barely runs, and when it does, it's unrideable. As it stalls randomly and can take some time to start it back up again. Drain the tank, put fresh gas in it, and it is good to go for another week till it starts the same process over again. Warped tank under filler.

Owner report 11291633 · 2019-12-27 (December 27, 2019)

2015 KTM DUKE 690 IS LEAKING GAS FROM THE GAS CAP NOT SEALING PROPERLY. CURRENT RECALL IS FOR 2016 MODELS AND NEWER. HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL TANK ONCE UNDER WARRANTY, ISSUE STILL PERSIST. GAS COMES OUT UNDER HARD ACCELERATION AND BRAKING AFTER FILLING UP GAS TANK.
