Owner report 11593111 · 2024-06-07 (June 7, 2024)

First the vehicle shakes at highway speeds. It has a substantial steering wheel vibration. I had to get two separate wheel balances done to attempt to resolve the issue. Can’t really say if the issue is fully resolved now because both the 12v battery and high voltage battery have had issues or failures leading to a completely dead unusable vehicle. Car has been out of working order for 13 days now with no eta on when the issue will be resolved. All of this happened with less than 30 days of owning the vehicle.

Owner report 11592798 · 2024-06-06 (June 6, 2024)

In brand new 2024 Kia EV9, the steering wheel shakes at or above speeds of 65mph. Replicated symptoms in all regen modes, as well as with regenerative braking turned off. Replicated symptoms with lane assist and highway driving assist both on and off. Issue presents itself on various different conditions of road surfaces. Brought vehicle to dealership service department and they stated that alignment was perfect and there was no unusual tire wear. Service advisor went on test drive with me and witnessed the symptoms but disregarded it as poss…

Owner report 11608723 · 2024-08-15 (August 15, 2024)

When I entered and tried the vehicle, I was presented with a trip information display on the instrument cluster in another language(assume Korean) with all values at zero. After turning the car on, the instrument cluster was blank except for the gear indicator and a red parking brake icon. The heads up display was completely blank as well. The car would shift into all other gears and drive. Turn signals did work, but the indicators were absent and did not make any sound. There was also no ready indication or chime signaling that the car was on …

Owner report 11639368 · 2025-01-29 (January 29, 2025)

The 12-volt battery for the vehicle was depleted, so the vehicle had to be jump-started to run. I work for a repair facility (it was here for collision repairs, as far as I know unrelated to this issue) and since I was unfamiliar with the vehicle, I inadvertently turned it off before shifting into park. When I took my foot off the brake, the vehicle began to roll forward. I am not sure if the vehicle was in park, neutral, or even reverse (the gear I was in when I turned the vehicle off), but whatever gear it was, the vehicle kept rolling afte…

Owner report 11649362 · 2025-03-19 (March 19, 2025)

Starting on Feb 22, 2025, we observed that our Kia EV9 had dramatically reduced range. Normally, when charging was complete the dashboard would show well over 250 miles of range, even in cold weather. On Feb 22nd we started to see the range had dropped to around 60 miles, even when the dashboard reported the battery at 100% charge. The actual range seemed to be even worse, dropping dramatically even after a short drive around our town. By all appearances, the high voltage battery seems to be defective and is causing a safety issue because it co…
