FRONT BRAKE ROTORS AND CALIPERS HAD TO BE REPLACED FOR THE THIRD TIME. *AK TSB # 05 033 02 WAS ISSUED BY THE MANUFACTURER BUT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE BRAKES. THE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS WERE REPLACED BY THE DEALER UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONSUMER REPLACED AT OWN EXPENSE. AT 56K MILES, THE BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED LIGHTLY, THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED SEVERELY AND WAS HARD TO CONTROL. *SCC *JB

1999 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH BAD ROTORS.*MR THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED A SEVERE SHUDDER IN THE STEERING WHILE ATTEMPTING TO BRAKE AT SPEEDS OF 45 MPH. AS A RESULT THE ROTORS WERE REPLACED ON OCT 9, 2002. SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE ROTORS WENT BAD AGAIN AND WERE REPLACED ON MAY 8, 2003, JUNE 9, 2003, MAR 5, 2004 AND JUNE 2004. ON JULY 8, 2004 THE ROTORS WERE REPLACED WITH THE NEW UPGRADE PACKAGE AT THE CONSUMERS EXPENSE, HOWEVER 9 MONTHS LATER THE SEVERE SHUDDER RETURNED. *JB

AIR BAG SENSOR RELOCATED AFTER RECALL TO TOP OF TRANSMISSION HOUSING. AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY AFTER A 40 MPH FRONTAL CRASH. RECALL ALSO CHANGED POSITION OF WIRE HARNESS CAUSING SHORT CIRCUIT. THAT RESULTED IN FAILURE OF 4 PCM 'S AND STALLING OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. *LA

WHILE BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, THE DRIVER PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND GOT OUT. AFTER GETTING OUT, THE VEHICLE HAD GONE INTO REVERSE, STRUCK THE DRIVER AND CRASHED INTO A NEIGHBOR'S GARAGE. I TOOK MY 1999 JEEP CHEROKEE TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP TO DETERMINE A PROBLEM I WAS HAVING WITH THE GAS GAUGE FAILING TO REGISTER HOW MUCH GAS I HAD IN MY TANK. I WAS CHARGED $55.00 JUST TO DETERMINE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT I HAD A DEFECTIVE FLOTATION SENSOR IN THE GAS TANK. THE PART IS GOING TO COST $124.00, NOT INCLUDING LABOR. I EXPECT THE REPAIR BILL FOR THIS PROBLEM TO BE AT LEAST $200.00, NOT COUNTING THE $55.00 I'VE ALREADY PAID JUST TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE JEEP HAS LESS THAN 52,000 MILES ON IT, SO I FEEL THAT …
