The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid. The contact stated while driving 72 MPH, the vehicle decelerated to 55 mph. The contact also stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the hybrid warning light was illuminated and the "pull over" warning message on the dashboard was also displayed. The contact was able to park on the side of the road. While on the highway my car (2022 Tucson Hybrid) lost almost all power while I was driving. I was approaching traffic and started to slow down. The battery light illuminated red and the car was jerking backing forth cutting power and juddering while I was slowing down. Being that I was still in the flow of traffic and my car wasn’t fully dead yet I tried to move out of the road but due to traffic on my right I had to make a left turn. Driving the car acceleration will go to zero. You can floor it and it will only go to 20mph. The car asked you to pull over safely. They hybrid battery is at zero and warning signs keep flashing. Has happened over three times on a new car. Dealership can’t figure it out. When I look up “HEV warning Tucson hybrid” there are many with same issue. Very, very dangerous issue.

On three separate occasions the vehicle refused to accelerate after being in a stop and go mode (I.e. traffic/drive thru). All three times an alert popped up on the dashboard stating: HEV Check Hybrid System Stop Safely. The second time this occurred a diagnostic code came up: DTCP112000. In all three occasions turning the car off and restarting resolved the issue at least temporarily. Also- the battery was completely depleted after each incident. I have noticed this only happens on very cold days and it has Happened 7 times now. The car will be driving along and suddenly lose all power to the point you cannot accelerate above 15 MPH even if you floor the gas pedal. While this happens the Battery indicator will drop to 0 and then a Message Check Hybrid System pops up.
