Owner report 11527622 · 2023-06-18 (June 18, 2023)

The Column Shifter that is installed on all 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HDs and 3500HDs poses a potential safety risk to its passengers and other drivers on the road. When the column shifter of the vehicle is in the standard drive position the shifter covers part of the screen and the direct path to the radio volume control dial and infotainment home button. It has been found and replicated that attempting to interact with the infotainment screen UI and the home button/volume control dial the driver may easily accidentally bump the shifter into the neu…

Owner report 11532174 · 2023-07-13 (July 13, 2023)

When attached to a trailer with solar panels, the truck will intermittently disconnect the trailer electronics which disables the trailer brakes and trailer lights. This is because the solar energy is back flowing to the truck via 7 pin connector and overloading the circuit. Having a truck disable the trailer brakes and lights intermittently is very dangerous. Earlier model years of this truck do not suffer this issue. GM is aware and has TSB but no solution has been found on the truck side without disabling the solar panels on the trailer.

Owner report 11548306 · 2023-10-04 (October 4, 2023)

Upon starting our 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD after towing a camping trailer for approximately 200 miles, the following error notifications would cycle every 20 seconds to 5 minutes: "Check Trailer Wiring" "Service Trailer Brake System" The trailer brake would become disabled after these errors, and sometimes would connect with a "trailer brake connected" message, only to repeat every 20 seconds to a few minutes later. During the 60 minutes in which I drove to an RV dealership to have the problem looked at, on multiple occasions, I had no…

Owner report 11610528 · 2024-08-23 (August 23, 2024)

First date was 04/23/2024 my truck went into limp mode with an alert reading engine and transmission control module problem. Brought it in and they reset the sensors. Shortly after the alert warning goes off again and I turn the engine off and start it back up. It cleared the alert, I brought it back in on 06/15/2024. They reset sensor and fixed a recall on tailgate. I picked up truck, drove it for 2 months and TCM warning came up and threw truck into limp mode while pulling a 2 horse trailer. It turned a 3 hr drive into a 6 hr drive. I brough…

Owner report 11647759 · 2025-03-11 (March 11, 2025)

My truck wonders down the highway. It has been to the dealership well over 4 times. They have aligned the truck multiple times, changed the steering gear box, changed the power steering pump, changed tires and nothing fixes it. It takes constant adjusting of the steering to stay in my lane on any road. Quite pitiful for a $90,000 truck. It is currently at the dealership for the THIRD time in the past 7 days because they can’t get the truck to stop leaking fluids since changing the power steering pump. Excessive play in the steering and has been…

Owner report 11627775 · 2024-11-27 (November 27, 2024)

Experienced loss of power and inability to maintain highway speeds. The Transmission shifted violently and RPMs went as high as 3500. Was able to move off the highway but cars behind us had to dodge us when it failed. There was warning message on the dash and a CEL. The truck threw two codes P0700, P0747. I was able to limp to a dealer 5 miles away. This is a known TSB with GM. There is a solenoid failure in the Transmission. There is 30-90 day backorder on parts as the failure is so prevalent.
