Owner report 11510444 · 2023-03-06 (March 6, 2023)

No incident as of yet. The wide angle driver mirror cannot be set high enough to see down the side of the truck. It is a factory installed towing mirror. I have to lower my my seat all of the way and I cannot see the top rail of the bed. The mirror won't let me see down the side of the truck which makes it really dangerous when I pull my 32' fifth wheel trailer. I took it to the dealer and they told me at first ( I purchased the truck on 01-22-2023) the mirror is one of 6 items that warranty doesn't cover. Then they told me it is very difficult…

Owner report 11596622 · 2024-06-25 (June 25, 2024)

The valve body inside the transmission has failed and GM has known it to fail but they have done nothing about it. My vehicle has been in the shop for 2 months because of it and “parts are on back order” it’s terrible i’ve bought this vehicle in august and it’s constantly been inside the shop for various issues. My transmission lost 7th gear and it came to an immediate stop in the road because of it. tires screeching and all. truly embarrassing that you can spend 83,000$ on a truck and it be such a peice of junk.

2023 GMC Sierra Duramax Diesel with 10 speed Allison Transmission with 28,000 miles can't be driven. Currently at the dealership due to a transmission valve body problem, codes P0700 & P0747. While driving I felt a hard shift and the truck jerk. The engine light came on and my truck went into low power mode. Let it sit over night and truck would shift fine. This happened 3 times over a 1 month period. After getting to the Chevy dealer they told me the issue is with he valve body and said they have been having multiple trucks come in with the sa…

Recall history

1 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

24V060000 · Latches/Locks/Linkages:Tailgate:Latch

Reported: 2024-02-01 (February 1, 2024)

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, 3500, GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 vehicles equipped with power-unlatching tailgates. The tailgate's electronic gate-release switch may short circuit due to water intrusion, which can result in the tailgate inadvertently unlatching while the vehicle is in park.

Consequence: An unlatched tailgate may open while driving and result in a loss of unsecured cargo, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Owners are advised to check that the tailgate is closed and latched before driving. Dealers will replace the exterior touchpad switch assemblies, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 17, 2024. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N232426400.
