TL* THE CONTACT'S SPOUSE RENTED A 2019 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35-40 MPH, THE STEERING SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SUSPENSION FRACTURED AND CAUSED THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE INNER WHEEL WELL AND SEIZE IN PLACE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT SUSPENSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT THAT ULTIMATELY TOTALED THE CAR. THE AIRBAG UNDER THE DRIVER SIDE DASH CAME OUT BUT THE AIRBAG IN THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT COME OUT NOR DID THE SEATBELT LOCK. MY HEAD AND FACE HIT THE WINDSHIELD LEAVING ME WITH INJURIES TO MY FACE AND NOSE AND I HAD INJURIES ON THE ENTIRE LEFT SIDE OF MY BODY. I WAS GOING 45 MPH AND FELL ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL. WHEN PLACING MY CAR IN TO PARK IT DOESN'T ACTUALLY GO IN TO PARK. IF YOU GET OUT AFTER IT DOES THIS THE CAR WILL ROLL. THIS IS TERRIFYING. IT STARTED TO ROLL OUT MY DRIVEWAY AFTER PUTTING IT IN PARK. I HAVE TO PUT MY EMERGENCY BRAKE ON SO IT DOESN'T ROLL. I HAVE A VIDEO OF THE INCIDENT BUT I CAN NOT ATTACH IT.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power with the low battery warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but was not diagnosed. The contact was informed that the 12-volt battery had been replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 42,256.

There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE. Vehicle experienced a “Stop Safely Now” warning with hybrid system shutdown, occurring both while driving and while parked/idling, causing jerking symptoms. This puts driver and other roadway users at risk, as loss of power/propulsion can occur without warning while in motion. Vehicle also set a P0073 (ambient air temperature sensor circuit high) fault code.
