Owner report 10629034 · 2014-08-28 (August 28, 2014)

REAR BRAKES HAVE FAILED FOUR TIMES. THEY HAVE FAILED THREE TIMES AFTER THE LAST RECALL. THE BRAKE FLUID IN THE RESERVOIR HEATS UP BECAUSE OF ITS LOCATION NEAR THE EXHAUST PIPE AND CHEMICALLY BREAKS DOWN CAUSING FADING AND FAILURE OF THE BRAKE. THIS IS A WIDELY KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THESE MOTORCYCLES. ACCORDING TO DUCATI SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES, DUCATI KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT DOES NOT THINK THE REAR BRAKE IS NECESSARY FOR STOPPING THEREFORE, THEY HAVE NOT PROPERLY ADDRESSED THE SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

Owner report 10681582 · 2015-02-05 (February 5, 2015)

THE REAR BRAKE WILL FADE UNTIL IT IS COMPLETE UNUSABLE. THEN IT GETS REBLED AND WORKS FOR A DAY OR TWO AND THEN IS UNUSABLE AGAIN. DUCATI SENT OUT A SERVICE BULLETIN AND MY DEALERSHIP INSTALLED NEW PARTS PER THE SERVICE BULLETIN, BUT THE REAR BRAKES HAVE FAILED AGAIN! THEY ARE DANGEROUS! I HAVE QUIT USING THE REAR BRAKE BECAUSE I KNOW I CAN'T COUNT ON IT, AND THAT IS WORRISOME TOO. *TR

Owner report 11505481 · 2023-02-03 (February 3, 2023)

Gas gauge is non functional, and Ducati has not been able to rectify this for many years! Ducati is on revision H of the fuel level sender, and still have non-functionality issues. Not knowing how much fuel can lead to sudden loss of power. It's happened many times on this motorcycle.

Owner report 11463443 · 2022-05-05 (May 5, 2022)

The motorcycle has had occasional issues of stalling while riding if I pull the clutch in while coasting to a stop. For example coming up to a light or stop sign, I would anticipate the stop and downshift and pull the clutch in, resulting In a stall. Yesterday while setting the cruise control at 40 MPH and cruising down the street, the bike just stalled and turned off while being on cruise control. I was able to restrat the bike when I stopped. I notified the dealership and will be taking it in on the 11th of May.

Owner report 10456013 · 2012-04-22 (April 22, 2012)

THE PLASTIC FUEL TANK HAS EXPANDED TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE AND INSTALL FOR REQUIRED MAINTENANCE. IT IS MISALIGNED WITH BODY PARTS AND THE SIDE COVERS DON'T FIT WELL ANYMORE AND POP OPEN. IT IS DAMAGING TO THE OTHER BODY PARTS. I HAVE READ THAT FUEL LEAKAGE WILL BE THE END RESULT OF THE PROBLEM AS IT CONTINUES TO EXPAND AND THAT THE TANK CAN COME OFF IN A CRASH. *TR
