WHEN I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK I PUT $4000.00 CASH DOWN ON IT AND BECAUSE THERE IS CURRENTLY NO LEMON LAW IN IDAHO I WAS STUCK. THE TRUCK NOW RUNS PRETTY WELL. IAW THE CUMMINS FACTORY REPAIR MANUAL THE TIMING GEAR HOUSING BOLTS ARE TO BE LOCK TIGHTED AND THEN TORQUED TO SPECS, ONLY TWO WERE LOCKTIGHTED. THE ANTI LOCK AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS HAVE BEEN ON SINCE MY INITIAL PURCHASE AND THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES HAVE NOT BEEN FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. WHEN THE CONSUMER TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT, HE/SHE WAS UNABLE TO STRAIGHTEN THE WHEEL WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THE PROBLEM WAS IN THE STEERING GEAR BOX. THE CONSUMER STATED THE STEERING GEAR BOX WAS REPLACED APPROXIMATELY A MONTH AGO. *JB

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1994 DODGE PICKUP. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS SMOKING FOLLOWED BY FLAMES. THE ENGINE WAS NOT TURNED ON AT THE TIME. THE CONTACT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE FIRE MELTED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LINER AND THE FRONT CARPET WAS DESTROYED. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT PASSENGER AND DRIVER SEATS WERE SCORCHED AND THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED. GAS TANK STRAPS BROKE (BOTH RUSTED IN HALF). THE FRONT OF THE TANK DROPPED DOWN ONTO THE ROAD RUBBING A HOLE IN IT. WHILE TRYING TO GET PARTS AT A LOCAL PARTS STORE, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAVE EITHER SEEN OR HEARD OF SIMILAR INCIDENTS OF THE GAS TANK STRAPS RUSTING IN HALF AND THE TANKS FALLING OUT. *TR
