TT CONSUMER STATES TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT ONLY 40 F OR LOWER TEMPERATURES, TEMPERATURE ABOVE 40 TRANSMISSION OOPERATES NORMALLY, VEHICLE SPEEDS OF 50 MPH CAN BE ATTAINED BUT ENGINE RPM IS HIGH DUE TO LACK OF SHIFTING INTO 3RD AND 4TH GEAR.*JB

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1991 CHRYSLER IMPERIAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LINKAGE FOR THE TRANSMISSION DISCONNECTED FROM THE STEERING COLUMN WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY A MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 82,000.
