The contact owns a 2021 Can-Am Ryker Rally Motorcycle. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, the brakes inadvertently engaged, causing the rear-end of the motorcycle to wobble. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer tightened the front brakes; however, the failure recurred. Upon investigation, the contact related the failure to the speed sensor traction control. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.

When taking left turns either at slow or highway speeds, the left front brake grabs as though the abs is kicking on, making it hard to steer and potentially losing control. The dealer says they were not able to duplicate the problem. My wife's 2020 Ryker Rally does the same thing. The dealer says the same thing about hers, no issue.

On sweeping left turns the rear tire shudders and skips across the road. Dealership reset YAW rate sensor and adjusted front steering rack. This corrected the issue for a day. The online forums for Can Am Rykers show numerous complaints about this specific issue but dealerships and Can Am state there is no issue and don't have a long term correction for the issue. While riding bike it goes into limp mode without warning because of loose steering and vibration in rear suspension. Limp mode causes the bike to travel at an unsafe highway speed. Bike throws numerous codes for suspension sensors and steering sensors.

I bought the bike new and it is all stock, no addtl electrical additions. I was riding the bike had gone approx 35 miles the 1st & 2nd time and l was on a highway all of a sudden my bike lost power. It dropped speed from 65mph to under 40mph & my dash started to read VSS FAULT LIMP HOME..... I was almost hit multiple times by traffic coming up on me at higher speeds & bcz the bike has no emergency flashers l was almost struck. During left-hand curves, even at slow controled speeds, the vehicle decreases engine power and the brakes begin to pulse. Eventually, the vehicles engine light illuminates, throws trouble codes for the VSS (VEHICLE STABILITY SYSTEM), and goes into "limp mode", which gives the vehicle a limited amout of power and speed, in order to be able to reach home or service center. When you riding the bike for a certain amount of time, it cuts of or when you cut it off it don't start back up. It's very dangerous for you to be riding and the bike just shuts down. Then you have to.let the bike sit for an hour until the fuel pump cools off then it will start up again and drive normal. But the same thing happens again this my 3rd time this has happened to me.

BRP's Vehicle Stability System (VSS) engages randomly on left turns, cutting engine power, applying braking, and temporary stalling around curves at normal driving speeds. This situation is a serious driving hazard as may suddenly jerk erratically, causing temporary loss of control of vehicile. This has happened on several occassions, and is a known problem to BRP.
