Owner report 11241125 · 2019-08-01 (August 1, 2019)

ON 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS THE POWER STEERING HAS QUIT WORKING WHILE DRIVING. HAS HAPPENED WHILE TURNING AND WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT. HAS HAPPENED WHILE ACCELERATING AND WHILE DRIVING CONSTANT SPEED. AFTER STOPPING, TURNING ENGINE OFF AND THEN RESTARTING THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY. I DO GET A MESSAGE THAT POWER STEERING IS OUT ON THE DASH BUT IT IS VERY EVIDENT WHEN IT GOES OUT. INTERNET SEARCH SAYS THIS IS A PROBLEM ON OTHER MODELS AND RECALL ISSUED. DEALER SAYS NO SUCH RECALL ON MY VEHICLE.

Owner report 11654116 · 2025-04-11 (April 11, 2025)

In 2019, GM released service bulletin 18-NA-358 that confirms the company's knowledge of of defective parts in transmissions. I have a 2017 Cadillac XTS experiencing these symptoms and GM should be responsible for parts failing due to metal shavings. This needs to be a recall. The transmissions are not getting gas, shuddering, and stalling when accelerating. This shuddering has almost caused me to be in many accidents. The vehicle owner should not be responsible for replacing expensive parts and entire transmissions due to metal shavings st…

Owner report 11033158 · 2017-10-12 (October 12, 2017)

XT5 HAS A TRANSMISSION SHUDDER, BETWEEN 16MPH AND 50MPH, WITH THE AISIN AF50-8 TRANSMISSION. GM REPORTS NO PROBLEM WITH THE AISIN. CADILLAC TECHNICIAN DROVE VEHICLE AND DID NOTICE SHUDDER. NEXT STEP, INVOLVE GM ENGINEER. IF HE DOESN'T FIND AN ISSUE, I HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE SHUDDER.

Owner report 11537429 · 2023-08-09 (August 9, 2023)

Numerous problems for a year have been: engine dies while driving, car totally dead with new battery, display partially black randomly or totally black along with radio display black, park assist is turned off. Headlights turn off and on by themselves; The latest is driving up a hill @ 25 mph, the steering wheel jerked hard to the right at 2 different times. Had I not had a solid grip on the wheel, it would have taken down a 500 foot drop and we wouldn't be here today. This last episode is the first time their OBD was able to read anything. It …
