After receiving a notification for a safety recall for a 2023 Yamaha XSR900, the recall was applied by a Yamaha dealer in Santa Maria, after the recall the motorcycle idle poorly at low temperature and stalls during acceleration, it is a very dangerous condition as it can inadvertently stop the engine during maneuvers at low speeds. Several posts in the internet complain about the same issue, the dealer says the recall was implemented correctly.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER TRYING TO START THE MOTORCYCLE. IT HAS REMAINED ON. THE DEALER INVESTIGATED FOR A WEEK. NO ELECTRICAL OR MECHANICAL PROBLEMS WERE IDENTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER DIAGNOSTIC TOOL WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE A PROBLEM CODE OR CLEAR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE DEALER OPENED SUPPORT CASE WITH YAMAHA. ACCORDING TO YAMAHA THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH AN ACTUAL ISSUE AND IS A FALSE POSITIVE. HOWEVER, THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM OR TURN OFF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.
