Owner report 11051148 · 2017-11-29 (November 29, 2017)

MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 42000 MILES ON IT. 6000 MILES OVER WARRANTY. AS I WAS TURNING I HEARD A RATTLING AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON, HORN DOESN'T WORK AND STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS DO NOT WORK. DEALERSHIP SAID IT'S THE STEERING WHEEL CLOCK SPRING IN THE STEERING WHEEL. SAME ISSUE AS 2010-2014 RECALLS. THE PART IS DEFECTED AND DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO PAY FOR IT. IF I WRECK THE AIRBAG WILL NOT WORK.

Owner report 11093986 · 2018-05-15 (May 15, 2018)

OCT 19TH, 2017 CLOCK SPRING BROKE, WHILE EXITING OUT OF PARKING LOT, FOLLOWED BY AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT APPEARING ON DASHBOARD, ALONG WITH ALARM SOUND. AS I CONTINUED TO DRIVE ON SIDE STREET, I WAS NOT ABLE TO USE MY HORN AS ANOTHER STARTED TO ENTER MY LANE. UPON RETURN TO PARKING LOT, WHILE CAR WAS IN DRIVE, MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO MY DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS THAT NEXT MORNING (10/20) MARCH 15TH, 2018 THE CLOCK SPRING FAILED FOR 2ND TIME, SO I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS (AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT C…

Owner report 10883887 · 2016-07-11 (July 11, 2016)

WE CURRENTLY HAVE AN ISSUE WITH OUR BRAKING SYSTEM IN OUR 2015 VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN. AT LOW SPEEDS THE CAR DOES NOT BRAKE PROPERLY. THE CAR WILL LOOSE ITS ABILITY TO BRAKE AND WILL MAKE A LOUD GRINDING SOUND. THIS HAPPENS AT RANDOM TIMES AND THE CAR MANUFACTURE CANNOT SEEM TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE. OUR CONCERN IS THAT WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO VOLKWAGEN TWICE; ON THE FIRST OCCASION THEY SAID THERE WAS NO ISSUE AND ON THE SECOND OCCASION THEY SAID IT WAS A BRAKE SEAL ISSUE. THE ISSUE IS STILL OCCURRING AND NOW THEY ARE MAKING STATEMENTS THAT AN OUTSIDE…

Owner report 11034395 · 2017-10-18 (October 18, 2017)

1 MONTH OLD AND BATTERY DISCHARGED, TOOK TO DEALER NO ISSUE FOUND , 2 YEARS LATER SAME ISSUE BATTERY DISCHARGED PURCHASED NEW BATTERY WORKED FOR 2 DAYS THEN WOULD NOT START AGAIN. ALTERNATOR NOT CHARGING THE BATTERY, TOOK TO DEALERSHIP THEY SAID NO ISSUE WITH ALTERNATOR OR BATTERY. WHEN I WENT TO START THIS IT SHOWED ALL THE LIGHTS ALL THE SYMBOLS AND THEN COMPLETELY BLANK.

Owner report 10935512 · 2016-12-15 (December 15, 2016)

I WANT TO REFERENCE NHTSA COMPLAINT ID # 10883887, FILED ON 7/11/2016 BY ANOTHER CONSUMER, BECAUSE I HAVE EXPERIENCED EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM THAT THEY DESCRIBED WITH THE BRAKES ON MY 2015 VW TIGUAN. AS THEY SAID, THE PROBLEM OCCURS RANDOMLY, TYPICALLY WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED AT LOW SPEEDS, AND IN MY CASE, SOMETIMES (BUT NOT ALWAYS) IT SEEMS TO BE LINKED WITH APPLYING THE BRAKES ON A ROUGH ROAD THAT HAS POTHOLES OR AN UNEVEN SURFACE. THE VEHICLE LOSES BRAKING EFFECTIVENESS AND IT FEELS AS IF THE BRAKES ARE GRINDING METAL-ON-METAL (CONSIS…

Owner report 11417535 · 2021-05-17 (May 17, 2021)

After the battery on the car died, the steering wheel clock spring failed. After replacing the clock spring, it was unable to be programed through authorized VW repair shop. This has been subject for a recall for previous models and is a known problem in current models. There have also been problems with the car shifting into neutral by itself while driving on the freeway.

Owner report 11573834 · 2024-02-25 (February 25, 2024)

Car stalled while driving on the highway. No warning codes and mechanics cannot find a reason. This has happened twice before in past year with warning codes but all have been addressed yet it has stalled again with no code now. This has been costly, very dangerous and cannot feel safe driving.

Owner report 11420758 · 2021-06-13 (June 13, 2021)

My vehicle is experiencing multiple issues and I’m certain it has been hacked. All began happening around the same time. The front passenger seat air bag goes off and on with or without a person sitting in it. The voice activation prompt goes off on its own, the battery drains for no apparent reason, I get messages all at once (drivers side auto operation console) all go off back to back and then all messages go off at once and it dies. The car is running poorly (sputtering, very heavy pull on the engine). The temperature and miles left befo…
