Owner report 10398954 · 2011-04-28 (April 28, 2011)

WHILE RAISING THE ROOF OF THE POP-UP CAMPER, THE LIFT CABLE BROKE AND THE ROOF FELL. FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS INJURED. I FOUND A RECALL ON MY MODEL AND YEAR FOR INSTALLING A SAFETY BRAKE TO PREVENT THE ROOF FROM FALLING IF THE CABLE BREAKS (RECALL - CAMPAIGN #05V364000). THE COMPANY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RECALL SAYS MY CAMPER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. SINCE THE ROOF FELL WHEN THE LIFT SYSTEM FAILED I AM NOT SURE WHY I CANNOT HAVE MY CAMPER FIXED. I CANNOT GET A DESCRIPTION FROM THEM EXPLAINING IT TO ME.

THIS FEATURE WAS ONE THAT SOLD US ON THIS MODEL OF RV, SO WE DECIDED TO WAIT FOR THE REPLACEMENT LIGHT AND FAN COMBINATION. WHILE CAMPING RECENTLY THIS PRODUCT FAILED AS THE RECALL STATES, FAN MOTOR FAILED AND BURNED THE WIRING FOR IT IN OUR CHIL…

THE TECHNICIANS REPOWERED THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. AFTER THE REPAIR, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
