The contact owns a 2025 Yamaha TW 200 Motorcycle. The contact stated that while operating the motorcycle, the turn signal malfunctioned and failed to deactivate. The failure was present with the right and left turn signals. The contact stated that after the turn signal switch returned to center and the signal deactivation button was pressed, the turn signal remained activated. Clutch feel felt off from delivery. The friction zone of the clutch was tight and there was a pulsating vibration when the clutch tried to engage. Thought it was normal for this bike, turns out it wasn't. Got worse as riding over 3500 miles. At 3500, under dealer inspection, advised that the clutch plates needed to be replaced as they were "sticking". Yamaha denied warranty because it is a "Wear item", however this issue was present at delivery. Additionally, almost caused several tip overs because the clutch engagement was not smooth. This lea…

Reported: 2025-04-16 (April 16, 2025)
Pure Sports Distributing Inc. (Yamaha of Hawaii) is recalling certain 2022 MT-09 Tracer GT, 2021-2025 MT-09 SP, 2021-2025 MT-09, 2022-2023 and 2025 MT-10 SP, 2022-2024 MT-10 and 2022-2024 XSR900 motorcycles. The brushes inside the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) may slide excessively due to improper ECU programming, possibly causing unstable idling or an engine stall.
Consequence: Unstable idling or an engine stall can lead to loss of control of the motorcycle, increasing the risk of an injury or crash.
Remedy: Dealers will reprogram the engine control unit (ECU) software and replace the TPS, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 6, 2025. Owners may contact Yamaha of Hawaii customer service at 1-808-498-8248.
