TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 WINNEBAGO ITASCA SUNRISE MOTORHOME. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT WARNING AND HEATED UP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE HYDRAULIC CALIPERS DID NOT RELEASE AND THE HEAT DAMAGED THE WHEEL BEARING COVERS AND ABS SENSORS. THE FAILURES WERE NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. The contact owns a 2004 Winnebago Itasca RV. The contact stated that there was an abnormal propane odor coming from the RV. The contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 04V114000 (Equipment). The local dealer was not contacted. The RV was not diagnosed or repaired. The RV was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that there was a crack in the propane tank at the weld joints. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 80,600.
