The WABCO EBS Trailer Modulator (Part No. 4801070010), a 12-volt RSC valve installed on dry van trailers, intermittently retains residual pneumatic pressure in one delivery port without any active brake command. This causes a single wheel-end brake chamber to remain partially applied during highway operation, creating a sustained brake drag condition that is completely invisible to the driver , no warning lamps, no fault codes, no dash alerts, no detectable cab vibration or smell during early heat buildup. Reported: 2023-09-20 (September 20, 2023)
Wabash National Corporation (Wabash) is recalling certain 2009-2024 dry van trailers equipped with a rail-style lift gate. Please see the recall report for a complete list of models. The location of the rear impact guard is too far forward from the rear of the trailer, reducing impact protection. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 224, "Rear Impact Protection."
Consequence: In the event of a rear impact crash, the rear impact guard may not sufficiently protect light duty vehicles, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will add an extension to the rear impact guard, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 4, 2023. Owners may contact Wabash customer service at 1-765-771-5404. Wabash's number for this recall is B23015.

Reported: 2024-06-05 (June 5, 2024)
Wabash National Corporation (Wabash) is recalling certain 2024-2025 RFCVHSC refrigerated van trailers. The base rails may not be bonded properly and can detach, reducing the structural strength of the trailer.
Consequence: Base rails that detach can cause cargo to shift or fall, resulting in a loss of trailer control and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will install an additional attachment plate, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 12, 2024. Owners may contact Wabash customer service at 1-765-771-5404.
