Owner report 11646876 · 2025-03-06 (March 6, 2025)
On February 26, 2025 at about 3 - 3:30 p.m. I was turning into a parking space in a parking lot. I stopped my car just outside of the parking space and was turning left into the space. I lightly pressed the accelerator, as I have done hundreds of thousands of times since I started driving 57 years ago. The car accelerated, leaping forward and revving so fast that the car drove over a concrete divide (about 5 inches above the ground and 2 feet wide), flattened a sign, and landed on two cars that were parked on the other side of the divide. I…

Owner report 11698407 · 2025-11-09 (November 9, 2025)
I've owned the EX30 for approximately 3 months. During that time, there have been approx. 5 incidents where after backing the car from a parking spot and switching to drive mode, the entire navigation screen goes blank and the screen displays the car as being in reverse mode. After being advised by Red Bank Volvo, NJ that this likely would be rectified during a major software update, I installed 2 major updates without a resolution to this problem - shortly after the 2nd update, I experienced the issue again. On 11/7/25 I brought the car to ser…

When the car is in drive and I am driving the screen shows a message that the car cannot do a function because the car is in reverse. See photos.

Owner report 11731541 · 2026-04-16 (April 16, 2026)
Three separate safety incidents occurred within the last 3 months. INCIDENT 1: On at least two occasions while turning, the steering felt aggressive and notchy, resisting or jerking unexpectedly during the turn. INCIDENT 2: While driving on the Florida Turnpike at approximately 80 mph southbound around 7:00 AM, the vehicle suddenly reacted as if detecting an obstacle and applied what felt like emergency braking. No vehicle or obstacle was present in my lane or adjacent lanes. INCIDENT 3 (most serious): While parked in a parking lot, I applied t…

Owner report 11735099 · 2026-05-01 (May 1, 2026)
I am filing this complaint regarding NHTSA Recall 26V103 (Manufacturer Recall R10362) for my 2025 Volvo EX30, VIN [XXX] . The recall was issued February 18, 2026 for a fire, overheating, and smoke safety risk due to potential overheating of the High-Voltage battery cell. The remedy requires battery module inspection and replacement, however Volvo has acknowledged that no replacement parts are available and has provided no estimated timeline for repair. I have not received any repair. No parts have been installed. No remedy has been performed …

Owner report 11739857 · 2026-05-25 (May 25, 2026)
A battery recall was placed on the vehicle on February 18, 2026. However, the battery fire risk existed before this date. According to Volvo's instructions, I can only charge to 70 percent. We are also instructed to only charge when the vehicle can be monitored. Because of my business and need to have a vehicle ready to go at all times, I have to charge overnight. It is my only vehicle. I take care of elderly parents, live in rural Indiana, and need to have the vehicle ready in case of emergencies and at a moment's notice when clients re…

Owner report 11743930 · 2026-06-13 (June 13, 2026)
This car is subject to NHTSA Recall Number 26V103, manufacturer's recall number R10362. I learned about the recall on February 23 via a Reuters article, but received nothing from Volvo. In follow-up with Volvo I was told on February 25 via email that there was no recall on my car. After some digging, I found through the NHTSA site that the recall did apply to my car. When Volvo corporate finally got their story right with prodding from my local dealer, I instructed to reduce charging to 70% and not to charge in or near my home or other flammabl…

Owner report 11755847 · 2026-08-10 (August 10, 2026)
I was checking EV charging locations on my Pixel 10a while the EX30 was driving in Pilot Assist mode. I was hand-free. The car was chirping at me to do something, I have XXX while cars zoomed past at 80 mph or more (just outside of [XXX]). Vehicles were depertely swerving, honking, I was yelling at the car to move... it remained tied to the ground. After what felt like an eternity (you'll need to check the car black box), I realized my phone needed to be placed back on the middle console to get a 'key read'. At least 20 cars swerved, slammed on…
