I HAVE 2 BLUESTAR TIRES THAT I WAS TOLD ARE NOT PART OF THE RECALL. THE PLACE I BOUGHT THE TIRES FROM IS VERY ADAMANT SAYING THESE TIRES ARE NOT PART OF THE RECALL. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITH A 2 WHEEL TRAILER WHICH THE TIRES ARE MOUNTED ON. I HEARD A LOUD POP SOUND AND I STOPPED TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED. AT FIRST I COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. BUT THEN I NOTICED 2 BULGES ON THE SIDEWALL OF ONE OF THE TIRES. I WAS PULLING IT WITH OUR TRACTOR AND ONLY GOING ABOUT 10 MPH. SOMETIMES I PULL THIS TRAILER WITH OUR PICKUP, WHICH COULD CAUSE A…

Reported: 1995-10-13 (October 13, 1995)
A CRACK OCCURS OUTBOARD OF THE AXLE ATTACHMENT WHICH GROWS AND RESULTS IN SEPARATION OF THE END OF THAT AXLE, INCLUDING TIRES AND WHEELS, FROM THE TRAILER.
Consequence: AXLE SEPARATION WHILE MOVING CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE TRAILERS AT ALL 8 WELDS ON THE AXLE TO AIR RIDE BEAM CONNECTIONS FOR VISIBLE CRACKS. IF A CRACK IS DETECTED, THE TRAILERS WILL BE REMOVED FROM SERVICE AND THE AXLES REPLACED.
