Owner report 11128179 · 2018-09-07 (September 7, 2018)
THE OEM LOCKING FUEL CAP DOES NOT TIGHTEN SECURELY. I WAS RIDING AT HIGHWAY SPEED 44.8 MILES AND TWO DAYS AFTER FILLING WITH GASOLINE. THE FUEL CAP CAME OFF AND I WAS SOAKED WITH GASOLINE. FORTUNATELY I WAS GOING FAST ENOUGH THE FUEL DID NOT GET ON THE EXHAUST, JUST MY CLOTHING. HAD THE FUEL VAPORS IGNITED FROM THE HOT EXHAUST, I WOULD HAVE BEEN ENGULFED IN FLAMES AND SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. I WAS GOING FAST WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND THE AIR TURBULENCE ACROSS THE OPEN FUEL TANK PULLED THE FUEL OUT IF THE TANK AND DIRECTLY BACK ONTO MY CHEST…

Owner report 11422187 · 2021-06-24 (June 24, 2021)
My bike started to have some problems while riding, especially when turning right the engine will just cut off so I stopped riding because it was kind of scary. The bike did not start at all unless the handlebar was turned all the way to the left only, trying over and over, it looks like there is a short just like the recall. I was finally able to take the bike to the shop on my own coin, it took a bit over a week to get diagnosed and repaired which is not bad at all. I have another bike and I was not really in need of this one. My 2017 Stre…

Owner report 11586516 · 2024-05-02 (May 2, 2024)
Kick stand spring came off of the bike. Kick stand was dragging and engine ignition was cut off by the safety switch. I lost control of the bike mid-turn d/t wheel rear drag. I did not crash d/t decades of riding experience., but did leave my traffic lane. Examination of the vehicle showed inadequate spring retention tabs that were badly worn. A Triumph forum stated others had similar experience. Crashes have resulted. The Triumph manufacturer was aware of the problem and blamed spring fatigue, but the factory had not issued a recall. N…

17V426000 · Exterior Lighting:Hazard Flashing Warning Lights | Electrical System:Wiring
Reported: 2017-07-03 (July 3, 2017)
Triumph Motorcycles America, LTD (Triumph) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Triumph Street Cup motorcycles. The wiring harness for the hazard warning lights may be pulled and strained during normal steering action.
Consequence: The pulled wires may cause the wires to pull loose from the connector resulting in a loss of the hazard warning lights, reducing the motorcycles visibility when hazard warning lights are wanted, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Triumph will notify owners, and dealers will extend the wiring length by installing a supplemental harness, free of charge. The recall began July 18, 2017. Owners may contact Triumph customer service at 1-678-854-2010. Triumph's number for this recall is Safety Recall 549.
