TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 TRIUMPH DAYTONA 675. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ROTORS WERE PREMATURELY WORN. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE BRAKES OVERHEATED AND WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKES, IT WOULD PUMP BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROTORS WERE BELOW NORMAL SPECIFICATIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,173.

I WAS DRIVING HOME AND MY ABS LIGHT CAME ON, I LOOKED UP AND MY HEADLIGHT STARTED TO FLASH AND THEN MY TACHOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER FROZE IN PLACE AND DIMMED SIGNIFICANTLY. I KEPT DRIVING SINCE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT. ABOUT 5 SECONDS LATER EVERYTHING WENT BACK TO NORMAL THEN ABOUT 15 MINUTES DOWN THE ROAD MY ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TURNED OFF AND BACK ON ABOUT 3 TIMES. AT THIS POINT MY HEAD LIGHTS AND DASHBOARD WERE COMPLETELY TURNING OFF AND ON. WHEN I CAME TO A CONSTRUCTION ZONE AND MY BIKE WAS IN IDLE IT DIED AND WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON…

TRANSMISSION STOPS WORKING SPORADICALLY. FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS IN JANUARY 2017, THE GEARBOX STOPPED CHANGING GEARS UP OR DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. WENT TO DEALER AND GOT IT FIXED. LATER IN THE SAME YEAR IN OCTOBER 2017 THE GEARBOX STOPPED WORKING ON DOWNSHIFTS, HAD TO DRIVE HOME ALL THE WAY IN 5TH GEAR. DEALER HAS REFUSED TO FIX THE ISSUE. IT IS A KNOW ISSUE AMONG TRIUMPH DAYTONA OWNERS THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND GEARBOX IS VERY FRAGILE AND CAN GIVE OUT ANY TIME. SUDDEN MALFUNCTIONING OF THE TRANSMISSION CAN CAUSE CONFUSION AND FRU…

13V104000 · Exterior Lighting:Turn Signal

Reported: 2013-03-22 (March 22, 2013)

Triumph Motorcycles (Triumph) is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Daytona 675, Street Triple, Speed Triple, and Tiger 800 motorcycles. Due to a manufacturing error, the turn signal stems on the front and rear of the motorcycle may fracture.

Consequence: If the turn signal stems break, the turn signals may not be visible to other vehicles on the road, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

Remedy: Triumph will notify owners and dealers will replace the turn signal stems, free of charge. The recall began on March 26, 2013. Owners may contact Triumph at 1-678-854-2010 for more information.

13V319000 · Service Brakes, Hydraulic:Antilock/Traction Control/Electronic Limited Slip

Reported: 2013-07-22 (July 22, 2013)

Triumph Motorcycles is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Street Triple and Street Triple R motorcycles manufactured in July 2012; and model year 2012-2013 Daytona 675 and Daytona 675 R motorcycles manufactured September 2012 through June 2013. Due to a manufacturing error, the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) may malfunction and lose anti-lock functionality.

Consequence: The anti-lock function may not perform properly allowing for wheel lock up and skidding, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Triumph will notify owners and dealers will replace the ABS modulator, free of charge. The recall began during August 2013. Owners may contact Triumph at 1-888-283-5288.
