Owner report 11427521 · 2021-08-02 (August 2, 2021)
In June 2021 at a milage of 10,630 the DEF sensor become faulty and warning lights came when on I-5 interstate, CA. A replacement sensor solve the issue but the new one also getting stuck causing the DEF level not reporting correctly. I am worry about the "Limp mode" if the sensor is not working causing a safety hazard. Either sensor needs to be more reliable or the enabling of the limp mode should be done under careful consideration giving enough time for the driver to get to safety.

Owner report 11533749 · 2023-07-21 (July 21, 2023)
Two issues, both resulting in derating to 5 mph on a busy freeway. The DEF sensor has had repeated failures, resulting in 7 generations of DEF sensors, all of which have had repeated failures. Without reprogramming by Cummins, a DEF simulator, or DEF sensor replacement, the engine derates to 5mph upon 2 restarts. This results in a dangerous driving situation unless the vehicle is towed. The second issue is a faulty wiring harness in all Cummins ISV 5.0 engines, used in Nissan Pickups, buses, and Tiffin Breeze motorhomes from 2017-2019. The wi…

16V562000 · Engine And Engine Cooling:Engine | Parking Brake:Conventional:Air
Reported: 2016-07-28 (July 28, 2016)
Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Breeze motorhomes manufactured July 7, 2015, to June 14, 2016. The affected vehicles have air compressors attached to the engine that may fail due to debris from manufacturing being left in the air intake tube.
Consequence: Failure of the air compressor may result in the inability to maintain air pressure while driving which would cause the parking brake to set unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Tiffin will notify owners, and Cummins certified technicians will inspect the air compressor for debris. Engines with no damage will have a new air intake tube installed. Engines with foreign material damage will be repaired by a Cummins certified technician, and have the air intake tube, charge air cooler, and air filter replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on August 11, 2016. Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661. Tiffin's number for this recall is TIF-101.
