TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED UNEXPECTEDLY CAUSING ENGINE TO REV BEYOND 4K RPMS RESULTING IN DRIVER ALMOST LOSING CONTROL. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP IT WAS TO PUSH THE GAS PEDAL DOWN WHICH INCREASED THE RPMS EVEN MORE AND ADDING TO CONTROL ISSUE. THIS OCCURRED MANY TIMES ON HILLS WITH OR WITHOUT CRUISE CONTROL. CAUSED PANIC IN THE VEHICLE BY PASSENGERS WHO THOUGHT THE ENGINE WAS GOING TO EXPLODE AND ALSO THAT THE BRAKES HAD FAILED. FORD SAYS THIS IS BUILT IN AND CANNOT BE CHANGED. I SAY IF YOU NEED THE ENGINE TO SLOW YOU THEN YOU PROBABLY HAVE UNDER SIZE…

I WAS DRIVING SOUTHBOUND ON LOOP 303 ARIZONA AT APPROX 60 MPH IN THE MOTORHOME WHEN VEHICLES PASSING STARTED MAKING HAND GESTURES AS IF SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH MOTORHOME. I PULLED THE MOTORHOME ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROADWAY AND UPON EXITING AND BEGINNING TO CHECK THE OUTSIDE OF THE MOTORHOME I FOUND ON THE DRIVER SIDE ONE OF CARGO DOORS OUTER SKIN HAD SEPARATED FROM THE CARGO DOOR BACK TO THE HATCH HANDLE WHICH HAD STOPPED THE DOOR SKIN FROM COMPLETELY COMING OFF. Owner report 11436500 · 2021-10-12 (October 12, 2021)
We had a cargo door skin failure while driving on I20 in Dallas on a windy day, 2/1/21. We have a 2017 Miramar which is the cousin of the Challenger. It peeled off while driving and went airborne behind us. We were stunned as we heard the peeling off and saw the launch of the cargo door skin. It broke the lock from the door frame as well. Miraculously, it landed on the side of the highway while motorists were swerving to miss the projectile. We stopped and checked all the doors including the outside kitchen, all of which are in the debonding pr…

Owner report 11504212 · 2023-01-28 (January 28, 2023)
The adhesive bond between the panes of glass on the driver’s side frameless window has failed. Approximately 80% of the adhesive has failed allowing the front of the glass to detach. I not only fear it will now fall out while driving, but it is also constantly fogged up and hard to see my mirror. This is a large piece of glass. Thor (the manufacture) has done nothing more than inform me that the warranty period for my bus has ended.

There is a electric privacy shade inside my RV for the windshield. My motor failed in the down position. I tried to get a replacement motor but none is available. I emailed the manufacturer of the shade and they gave me a replacement part number, this is where the safety issue comes in. The original motor has two memories built into it, four wires to control it. With the key off, while you are camping, you can press the SHADE down button and the shade will go down on its own and stop in the correct position. Same thing when you press the SHADE …

Recall history
4 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
17V634000 · Equipment:Other:Labels
Reported: 2017-10-09 (October 9, 2017)
Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Challenger, Axis, Chateau, Four Winds, Hurricane, Miramar, Palazzo, Tuscany, Vegas, Venetian, and Windsport motorhomes. The cargo carrying capacity (CCC) label on these vehicles may indicate an incorrect water capacity for the water heater/fresh water tank. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 120, "Tires and Rims for Motor vehicles over 10,000lbs."
Consequence: If the water capacity information is incorrect and it causes the vehicle to be over loaded, there would be an increased risk of a crash.
Remedy: TMC will notify owners and send them corrected labels, free of charge. The recall began on November 15, 2017. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-500-1020. TMC's number for this recall is RC000147.

Reported: 2017-11-22 (November 22, 2017)
Thor Motor Coach (Thor) is recalling various 2003-2018 recreational vehicles, equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. See a list of the affected trailer models at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V758-5764.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Thor will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Owners may contact Thor customer service at 1-877-500-1020, or Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information.

Consequence: If the windshield roller shade unrolls while driving, it could block the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: TMC will notify owners, and dealers will install a fastener to ensure the motor will not allow the shade to roll down during while driving. The recall began January 10, 2019. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-855-2867. TMC's number for this recall is RC000165.
