TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1997 REXHALL AERBUS. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL: CRUISE CONTROL IN SEPTEMBER OF 2007. THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS DISCONNECTED IN OCTOBER OF 2007. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER TWICE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE. THERE HAD BEEN NO FAILURE TO DATE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000. UPDATED 04/21/08 *BF

AUTOMATIC PARKING BRAKE ON CHEVROLET P30 CHASSIS 1994 THROUGH 1998 MOTORHOMES COMES ON WHILE IN FORWARD OR REVERSE UNEXPECTEDLY. THE BRAKES LOCK UP, STOPPING VEHICLE AT ANY TIME AND UNABLE TO MOVE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS DANGER TO EVERYONE. PLEASE SEE ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS LISTED ON THE INTERNET. TYPE IN AUTO PARKING BRAKE PROBLEMS ON 1997 CHEVROLET P30 CHASSIS. THE DESIGN OF THE REAR SUSPENSION AIR BAGS ARE TOO CLOSE IN LOCATION TO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM, AS AS RESULT THE REAR AIR BAG BLEW OUT FROM THE HEAT RESULTING IN TIRE WEAR AND ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS. *MJS

NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID # 01V163000 IS WRONG!- REPLACING BOLTS IS NOT GOING TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE THE PROBLEM ACCORDING TO JAMES HUGHES PROFFESSIONAL AUTOMOTIVE FORENSIC SERVICE IS THAT THE DRIVE SHAFT WAS NOT TO FORD SPECIFICATIONS IN LENGTH AND ANGLES THAT IS WHY THE BOLTS BREAK AND SNAP. CHANGING THE BOLTS WON'T PREVENT A FUTURE ACCIDENT -IT JUST PROLONGS IT FOR A WHILE.
