I BOUGHT A NEW NISSAN FRONTIER SV CREW CAN PICK UP. IT HAS A TERRIBLE VIBRATION FROM 60-80 MPH. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER A COUPLE OF TIMES. THEY CHANGED OUT THE TIRES AND THEN TOLD ME IT IS NORMAL FOR ALL OF THESE VEHICLES. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, BECAUSE I CAN NOT DRIVE VERY FAR WITHOUT MY HANDS GOING NUMB. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO DRIVE IT ANY DISTANCE ON THE FREEWAY BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. I AM NOT CERTAIN IT IS THE TIRES, BUT NISSAN CLAIMS IT IS NORMAL.

Owner report 11018927 · 2017-08-22 (August 22, 2017)

THE FIRST TIME MY WIFE WAS RIDING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AT NIGHT, SHE NOTED THAT THE "AIR BAG OFF" LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE THIS LIGHT DURING THE DAY. MY WIFE WEIGHTS 117 LBS AND IS 5'6" TALL. SHE IS NOT A SMALL ADULT. WE WERE ON A TRIP, BUT WE TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE NEAREST NISSAN DEALER (NOT THE DEALER WHO SOLD ME THE TRUCK). THE DEALER PUT A MAN WEIGHING ABOUT 50 LBS MORE THAN MY WIFE IN THE SEAT, AND THE "AIRBAG OFF" LIGHT STAYED OFF. WHEN I GOT HOME FROM THE TRIP, I TOOK THE TRUCK TO MY ORIGINAL DEALE…

Owner report 11023871 · 2017-09-17 (September 17, 2017)

WHEN PROCEEDING FROM A GREEN LIGHT, THE 2017 NISSAN FRONTIER SV WILL NOT ACCELERATE AS NORMAL. TO GET THE TRUCK MOVING FORWARD, I HAD TO STEP ON THE GAS MEDAL WITH MORE DEPTH THAN USUAL, RENDERING THE ENGINE RPM VERY HIGH, TO INCH THE TRUCK AWAY FROM THE STOP LIGHT. LUCKILY, I MADE IT TO A SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT WHICH WAS ABOUT 100-200 FEET AWAY. FROM THE PARKING STALL, I WANTED TO TEST IF THE REVERSE GEAR WAS AFFECTED. SHIFTED THE TRANSMISSION INTO REVERSE AND THE 2017 NISSAN FRONTIER SV WILL NOT MOVE BACKWARDS. THE REVERSE GEAR DID …

Owner report 11091656 · 2018-05-03 (May 3, 2018)

WHILE DRIVING ON A COUNTY HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE FOR NO APPARENT REASON RESULTING IN THE TOTAL LOSS OF THE VEHICLE. ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. ABOUT 2100 MILES ON ODOMETER, SPEED AT TIME OF FIRE WAS ABOUT 30 MPH. I HAD BEEN DRIVING ABOUT 5 MINUTES, JUST LONG ENOUGH FOR THE ENGINE TO WARM UP. I CHECKED THE OIL ABOUT 1 WEEK PRIOR TO THE FIRE AND READING WAS NORMAL. NO PROBLEMS STARTING THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS RUNNING NORMALLY UNTIL THE FLAMES ERUPTED FROM UNDER THE HOOD. NO INJURIES OR OTHER PROPERTY DAMAGE.

Recall history

1 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

18V551000 · Electrical System:Ignition

Reported: 2018-08-21 (August 21, 2018)

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2017 Nissan NV200, Sentra, NV3500 Van, NV3500 Bus, NV200 Taxi, NV1500, NV2500 Van, Chevrolet City Express, 2017-2018 Frontier, Versa Note, and Versa Sedan vehicles that have a mechanical (physical) key ignition system. In these models, over time, the weight on the key ring and road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position to the accessory position, turning off the engine.

Consequence: If the vehicle stalls, it can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the production information on the ignition switch, and replace it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began October 1, 2018. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669.
