THE 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT'S CVT TRANSMISSION HESITANT WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP THEN IT SURGES WITH POWER AND THE RPM FLUCTUATES UP AND DOWN CONTINUOUSLY. WHEN GIVEN GAS THE VEHICLE SOMETIMES DOES NOT ACCELERATE. THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT ALWAYS LIKE THIS. I RECORDED MULTIPLE VIDEO SHOWING THE RPM FLUCTUATES CONSTANTLY EVEN IN CRUISE CONTROL. I TOOK IT TO LOCAL MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR A DAY TO LOG THE DATA AS THEY DROVE IT AROUND ONLY TO BE TOLD "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT"

I WAS INVOLVED IN A RARE END COLLISION ON AN ICY ROAD. I BRAKED AND THE CAR ESSENTIALLY SLID DIRECTLY INTO AN 18 WHEELER. THE VEHICLE WAS IN FORWARD MOTION ON A HIGHWAY DOING AROUND OR BELOW EST 40MPH. UPON IMPACT THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY DESPITE THE EXTENSIVE DAMAGE SEEN. INJURIES WERE MINOR CUTS AND BRUISES AND WHIPLASH. SEAT BELTS DEFINITELY DID THEIR JOB SINCE THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DO ITS JOB.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELTS ON THE REAR SEATS FAILED TO LATCH FOR PASSENGERS WHO WEIGHED OVER 125 POUNDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WANTAGH MITSUBISHI (3460 SUNRISE HWY, WANTAGH, NY 11793, [phone removed]) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDED SEAT BELT EXTENSIONS AT A COST TO THE CONTACT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,100.

HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A FEW DAYS NOW I TRY TO START THE CAR AND IT SEEMS AS IT WILL FAIL ME SOON. I WENT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY TOLD ME IT'S A PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION OR STARTER. IT'S A NEW CAR BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW IN 2017. I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD ALSO RECALL THE 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT. ALSO SEAT BELTS DON'T LOCK .
