THE 2017 MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER SPORT'S CVT TRANSMISSION HESITANT WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP THEN IT SURGES WITH POWER AND THE RPM FLUCTUATES UP AND DOWN CONTINUOUSLY. WHEN GIVEN GAS THE VEHICLE SOMETIMES DOES NOT ACCELERATE. THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT ALWAYS LIKE THIS. I RECORDED MULTIPLE VIDEO SHOWING THE RPM FLUCTUATES CONSTANTLY EVEN IN CRUISE CONTROL. I TOOK IT TO LOCAL MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR A DAY TO LOG THE DATA AS THEY DROVE IT AROUND ONLY TO BE TOLD "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT"

I'VE HAD MY ROUTINE MAINTENANCE DONE ON THIS VEHICLE SINCE I FINANCED IT BACK IN JUNE OF 2019 WHICH WAS AT 47K MILES. THERE WAS NO ISSUES, I HAD MY LAST MAINTENANCE DONE IN OCTOBER AT 70K MILES. MY TRANSMISSION SHOWED NO SIGNS OF GOING OUT , THERE'S NO LEAKAGE OF ANY SORT. IT JUST DECIDED SATURDAY, JANUARY 2 OF 2021 THAT IT WAS JUST GOING TO GO OUT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP JANUARY 5TH, AND HE TOLD ME IT'LL BE $7035.09 TO REPLACE. I FEEL AS THOUGH THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS TRANSMISSION JUST LIKE THE RECALLS FOR THE 2016 MODELS. THE DA…

THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND PARKED ON A CITY STREET. WHEN I'M GOING TO TURN IT ON, THE CAR'S BATTERY IS DEAD. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH THIS SAME SITUATION FIVE (5) TIMES. IN A PERIOD OF TWO (2) YEARS, THE CAR HAS DISCHARGED FIVE (5) NEW BATTERIES, INCLUDING THE ONE THAT CAME FROM THE FACTORY. MY GREATEST CONCERN IS THE ENGINE STALLING WHILE DRIVING, NEW BATTERY DRAINING SO QUICKLY , THE VEHICLE SHAKING WHILE IDLE THEN SHUTS OFF. I CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW MY VEHICLE WAS NOT ADDED TO THE ENGINE STALL RECALL EVEN WITH THESE PROBLEMS REPLICATING WHAT MITSUBISHI IDENTIFIES IN THERE PAST RECALLS. My 17-year old son was stopped at a stop sign. He waited until any oncoming cars had passed before he started to move out of the stop. He turned right out of the stop and onto the cross street. After only a few feet, my son notice the front of the vehicle was angled toward the curb & he tried to pull the wheel out of the angle and stepped on the brakes.
