ON THURSDAY JULY 9TH AFTER 9:00 PM, I WAS DRIVING UP ROUTE 8 IN VIRGINIA FROM NORTH CAROLINA AND MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. MY VAN HAS SUFFERED FROM SUBSTANTIAL NOISE AND VIBRATION BETWEEN 1600 AND 2000 RPM ON SLIGHT GRADES SINCE THE DAY AFTER I PURCHASED IT. WITH JUST SHY OF 20,000 MILES ON THE VAN, MUCH OF IT GOING UP AND DOWN GRADES, IT IS MY PERCEPTION THAT THE POWER STEERING FLUID HOSE VIBRATED LOSE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 MERCEDES-BENZ SPRINTER 2500. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE DIESEL PARTICULAR FILTER WAS FRACTURED. THE CHASSIS CONNECTING BRACKET FAILED AND FRACTURED THE DIESEL PARTICULAR FILTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED AND THE REPAIR COST WOULD NOT BE COVERED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

THE VEHICLE HAD A LEAK THROUGH THE ROOF MOUNTED REAR A/C UNIT. THIS LEAK ALLOWS WATER INTO AN AREA WITH ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS AND ONTO PASSENGER'S. ONLY THROUGH A GOODWILL REPAIR WAS THIS REPAIR COMPLETED BECAUSE MY FACTORY WARRANTY IS EXPIRED AND MY EXTENDED WARRANTY WON'T COVER SUCH A REPAIR.

The contact owns a 2015 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked and lost motive power. The contact stated that the ABS and EMS warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed and repaired but continued to experience a failure. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 124,000.

Two separate incidents where wheel speed sensors failed. One in June 2022; one in September 2023. This disables antilock braking (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), forward collision warning (FCW), brake force distribution and cruise control. Almost all safety features are disabled. Previously a safety recall has been implemented for the 5 ton Mercedes Sprinter model (3500), for these same faulty wheel sensors. Service for these Sprinters is difficult to schedule when traveling with an upfitted Class B (Roadtrek) RV like ours. The …

14V764000 · Engine And Engine Cooling:Engine:Diesel
Reported: 2014-12-01 (December 1, 2014)
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC - DBA Sprinter (Mercedes) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Sprinter 2500, and Sprinter 3500 vehicles manufactured February 28, 2014, to November 21, 2014. In the affected vehicles, oil may leak from around the chain tensioner gasket area.
Consequence: Leaking oil may drip onto a hot engine surface, increasing the risk of a fire. Additionally, the leaking oil may be a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Mercedes will notify owners, and dealers will replace the chain tensioner gasket, free of charge. The recall began on December 19, 2014. Owners may contact Mercedes customer service at 1-877-762-8267. Mercedes' number for this recall is 2014120003.

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC - DBA Sprinter (Sprinter) is recalling certain model year 2015 Sprinter 2500 and 3500 vehicles manufactured July 1, 2014, to October 14, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the abutting wedge, a component attached to the door jamb to make opening the door easier after a severe frontal impact, may have been installed incorrectly.
Consequence: If a vehicle that has an incorrectly installed abutting wedge is involved in a severe frontal accident, a greater force may be necessary to open the doors, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Sprinter will notify owners, and dealers will check the installation of the abutting wedge, correcting it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began in March 2015. Owners may contact Sprinter customer service at 1-877-762-8267.

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC - DBA Sprinter (Mercedes) is recalling certain model year 2015 Sprinter 2500 and Sprinter 3500 vehicles manufactured February 28, 2014, to January 22, 2015. In the affected vehicles, oil may leak from around the chain tensioner gasket area.
Consequence: Leaking oil may drip onto a hot engine surface, increasing the risk of a fire. Additionally, the leaking oil may be a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Mercedes will notify owners, and dealers will replace the chain tensioner gasket, free of charge. The recall began May 18, 2015. Owners may contact Mercedes customer service at 1-877-762-8267. Note: This recall is an expansion of 14V-764.
