2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300: complaints, problems and recalls

When driving at 40 to 60 MPH and hit shallow pot hole or bump in the road the front wheels violently shake and the steering wheel (electric steering) violently vibrates for 5 to 8 seconds. Dealer checked the vehicle and claims there is nothing wrong with it but did turn off the "attention assist" setting from sensitive setting claiming it was the cause. The issue still exists but not as violent. I'm concerned of loosing control of the car/my safety. FYI: never experienced this issue with my previous car (same car two years older ,2020 GLC 300).…

I purchased my car 2022 Merced-Benz GLC 300 from Park Place Motorscar in Arlington Texas on February 17, 2022, and have issues with the steering wheel shaking when I drive over bumps. I have raised the problem with the dealership service department and they have not fixed it after 3 attempts. This is a safety issue and I am very concerned.

Vehicle vibrates quite violently when hit some potholes. Steering wheel is the part that vibrates more but vibration is felt throughout the vehicle. It is more prevalent at highway between 55-65 mph speed. I also noticed that car shakes unusually and tilts to one side at times making it quite uncomfortable for driver. back tires make slipping noice on potholes and feels like car is going to be unstable momentarily . Temporary vibrations (LONG LASTING) noticeable on steering wheel when front axle excited when driving over road irregularities at a speed between 45 mph and 90 mph (70 km/h and 150 km/h). Since I purchased this vehicle 2.5 months ago, the windshield wipers started chattering/making noise and not working properly after about 2 days. I brought the car in and the dealership replaced the wipers. The chattering started again shortly after, then the dealership polished the windshield. It worked well for about 2-3 weeks and now the wipers are starting to streak and chatter again. I have a third appointment to have the windshield re-polished and wipers replaced, again. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2021-2023 C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, CLS, SL, GT, GLC, GLE, GLS, and G-Class vehicles. Please refer to MBUSA's recall report for specific vehicle details. The fuel pump may shutdown, which can result in a loss of drive power.

Consequence: A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 14, 2024. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2023070012.

Reported: 2024-02-02 (February 2, 2024)

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2019-2022 GLC 300, 2020 GLC 350e, and 2020-2022 AMG GLC 43 vehicles. The headlights may be incorrectly adjusted too high and create a glare for oncoming traffic. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: Incorrectly aimed headlights can reduce the visibility of oncoming traffic, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the headlight adjustment and correct it if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 23, 2024. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.
