Owner report 11114019 · 2018-07-26 (July 26, 2018)

I OWN A 2018 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR, 3 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE AC STOPPED WORKING. I BROUGHT IT IN TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT LINCOLN HAD A DRIED OF VEHICLES WHICH HAD THE WRONG REFRIGERANT PUT IN FROM THE FACTORY. TODAY IS THE 22ND STRAIGHT DAY WITHOUT MY TRUCK BECAUSE THERE ARE SUPPOSEDLY NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX IT. $83,000 SUV!! I EVEN HAD TO HIRE A LAWYER TO SEND THEM A LETTER TRYING TO GET INFO ON WHEN I AM GETTING MY VEHICLE BACK. THEY WON'T WVEN ANSWER A LAWYER

THE ALARM GOES OFF IF YOU LOCK THE VEHICLE WHEN YOU ARE IN IT WITH THE KEY. FOR EXAMPLE, IF YOU ARE WAITING FOR SOMEONE AND YOU LOCK THE DOOR. THIS CAUSES THE ALARM TO GO OFF, THUS DRAWING ATTENTION TO YOU IN THE VEHICLE.THIS LEAVES YOU IN A VERY VULNERABLE POSITION. YOU ARE IN A VERY EXPENSIVE VEHICLE WITH THE DOORS UNLOCKED AND/OR THE ALARM GOING OFF. I SPOKE TO FORD AND THEY ARE REFUSING TO FIX IT.

BACK LIFTGATE OPENS RANDOMENLY. DEALER HAS REPLACED TWO PARTS INVOLVED AND HAPPENED AGAIN YESTERDAY. SEEMS TO BE WHEN YOU SHUT ONE OF THE FRONT DOORS FIRMLY AND LOCK THE CAR W KEYFOB TWICE. I SUSPECT THE AIR PRESSURE FROM SHUTTING DOOR AND KEYFOB ACTION CAUSE THIS. BUT PROBLEM PERSISTS. CAR WAS STATIONARY EVERY TIME.

THE CAR WAS BROUGHT IN FOR A ROUTINE SERVICE WHICH CONSISTED OF A OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION. AFTER REMOVAL OF TIRES IT WAS EVIDENT THAT THE REAL AXLES NUTS WERE ONLY HAND TIGHT AND NOT TORQUED AS THE NYLOK LOCKING INSERT DID NOT DEFORM ELASTICALLY OVER THE THREADS. I THINK IF THEY DONT HAVE A SIGNED OFF MANUFACTURING PLAN, TRAVELER OR OPERATION SHEET CLEARLY INDICATING THAT THIS IS AN ISOLATED CASE THEY SHOULD BE RECALLING 24 HOURS WORTH OF PRODUCTION BEFORE AND AFTER THIS VIN WENT THROUGH THIS ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE. STARTING AT 20,000 MILES I STARTED ASKING THE DEALER TO CHECK THE TRANSMISSION ON MY VEHICLE. VERY OFTEN THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY HARD TO THE POINT YOU HEAR AND YOU FEEL LIKE SOMEONE HIT YOUR CAR ( USUALLY FROM 1ST TO 3RD GEAR ) AND ALSO WHEN YOU SHIFT IT TO REVERSE IT SLIPS. DEALER KEEPS SAYING THERES NO CODES COMING OUT ON THEIR COMPUTER. THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET.

THE BACK-UP CAMERA SYSTEM IS INOPERABLE. WHEN VEHICLE IS SHIFTED INTO REVERSE, THE SCREEN THAT IS SUPPOSED TO DISPLAY AN IMAGE FROM THE BACK-UP CAMERA OF THE AREA BEHIND THE VEHICLE IS BLACKED OUT. I WAS INFORMED BY MY LOCAL LINCOLN DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT THE BACK-UP CAMERA IS DEFECTIVE AND THAT, UNFORTUNATELY, REPLACEMENT CAMERAS ARE ON AN INDEFINITE NATION-WIDE BACK ORDER WITH NO ETA IN SIGHT. Recall history

12 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

18V058000 · Visibility:Power Window Devices And Controls

Reported: 2018-01-16 (January 16, 2018)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles. The second row window control modules may intermittently stop the movement of the power window. If something, such as a finger, is pinched by the window glass, the stopped window control module may prevent the window from automatically reversing. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 118, "Power-Operated Window Systems."

Consequence: If the window does not automatically reverse when an obstruction is found, it can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the second row window electronic control modules, and replace them as necessary based on their build date codes, free of charge. The recall began on February 16, 2018. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 18C01.

Consequence: Despite the transmission shift lever being placed in 'Park' and the instrument panel display indicating 'Park,' the vehicle may roll away after it has been exited if the parking brake has not been applied, increasing the risk of injury or a crash.

Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the transmission to make sure it has the roll pin, installing one if it is missing, free of charge. The recall began on April 13, 2018. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 18S09.
