2023 Land Rover RANGE ROVER SPORT: complaints, problems and recalls

Adaptive Cruise Control does not recognize (at times) stopped cars. SUV will accelerate into a stopped car. Similar problem on the NJ Turnpike traveling 65 mph with Adaptive Cruise Control. All lanes had a meaningful slow down and SUV continued to accelerate into slowdown. Almost had an accident and had to slam on the breaks. There was NO collision warning (should he alerted). The Lane Assist is buggy and pushes against my natural steering for no reason. It’s constantly trying to steer against my 2 handed steering.

Sadly, I have to report that I have not had my truck for more than 2 weeks and I had to already bring it to the dealerships for diagnostic evaluation for an Electrical fault detection message. As per the service department the vehicle needs a new Alternator. Hence, needing an alternator replacement when the vehicle has less than 200 miles is of great concern for the safety of my family and myself because this may have resulted from a manufacturer's safety-related defect? The contact owns a 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while driving at unknown speeds, the brake warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the brake pads needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the parts being backordered. The manufacturer was contacted, who informed him not to drive the vehicle. but no further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 13,000. The VIN was not available.

The car had a warning light in December “stop safely electrical fault detected” Land Rover dealership told me nothing was wrong, except I don’t drive enough & the battery was low. Eventually, the warning went away. This week, the warning light was back, along with additional warnings. The car literally shut down & quit working while it was running. Less than 2 hours before my car completely shut down while driving, I received an error message stating "Stop safely. Electrical fault detected." Windshield cracks spontaneously. In addition, there is an optical defect in the windshield glass that distorts visibility and is a safety hazard.

My vehicle lags using the accelerator. If you press the gas it taskes 10 seconds for the vehicle to begin moving unless you give it around 40% accelerator then it jumps uncontrollably forward. This happens everyday. I drive this vehicle constantly and the more I drive it the worse it gets. I feel the electric traction motor doesn't engage because of any number of reasons. I bring it to the shop and they charge the battery. After that it works fine for a few days then begins again.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2019-2023 Range Rover Sport, 2020-2023 Range Rover, Defender, 2022-2023 Discovery, and 2023 Range Rover Velar vehicles. The engine cam carrier oil channel may be blocked, which can lead to an oil leak.

Consequence: An oil leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the engine cam carrier and related components as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 29, 2023. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N763.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles. The vehicles are equipped with incorrect rear taillights that do not illuminate correctly. In addition, the brake lights may not illuminate correctly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, " Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: Taillights and brake lights that do not illuminate correctly can reduce vehicle visibility or cause confusion for other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the rear taillights, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 25, 2023. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N782.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Land Rover Range Rover and 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles. The second-row seat armrest storage compartment latch may fail, allowing the objects from within to be unsecured in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 201, "Occupant Protection in Interior Impact."

Consequence: In the event of a crash, unsecured objects from within the armrest compartment may strike the vehicle occupants, increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the locking arm of the second-row armrest storage compartment, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 3, 2023. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N789.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles. Moisture may accumulate in the right-side tailgate and body mounted lights, which can cause the right-side exterior vehicle lights, including the brake, outer marker, reversing, and turn indicator lights to fail to illuminate.

Consequence: Exterior lights that fail to illuminate can decrease visibility and increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the right-side tailgate and body mounted lights, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 10, 2024. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N830.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2023-2026 Range Rover Sport and Range Rover vehicles. The panoramic sunroof side finisher trim may not be properly secured and can detach.

Consequence: A detached panoramic sunroof side trim can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the panoramic sunroof side finisher trim and secure it as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed June 19, 2026. Owners may contact Land Rover's customer service at 800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is D095.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar and Land Rover Discovery, 2020-2023 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, 2019-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, 2020-2024 Land Rover Range Rover, 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport, 2020-2024 Land Rover Defender, 2021-2024 Jaguar F-Pace, and 2021-2022 Jaguar E-Pace mild-hybrid electric vehicles (MHEVs.) The DC-DC converter can fail due to an internal fault in the boost control microchip. A failure of the DC-DC converter will result in a loss of 12-Volt system charging and can lead to complete loss of drive power and exterior lighting.

Consequence: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: The remedy for this recall is currently under development. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed June 17, 2026.
