WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ENTER HIGHWAY FROM STREET TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE EVOQUE 2014 WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BUT RATHER REV AT VERY HIGH RPMS FOR ABOUT 15 SECONDS AND THEN JARRINGLY SLIP INTO NEXT GEAR. THIS OCCURRED ON 6 OCCASIONS, ALWAYS ON THE HIGHWAY AND OFTEN AS CARS AND TRUCKS RAPIDLY APPROACHED AND HAD TO SLOW BEHIND ME OR SWERVE TO FREE LANES. I WAS TOLD SEVERAL TIMES BY THE DEALER THAT THIS WAS LIKELY A SOFTWARE PROBLEM AND IN AN EMAIL: "A COUPLE OF WEEKS AFTER INSTALLING THE LATEST SOFTWARE FOR YOUR TRANSMISSION, THE FACTORY HAS REQUEST…

Owner report 10926021 · 2016-11-14 (November 14, 2016)

THE CAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING, SHOWING A GEAR BOX FAILURE WARNING. WE STOPPED THE CAR AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. AFTER TURNING OFF THE ENGINE, AND RESTARTING AFTER A SEVERAL MINUTE WAIT, WE RESUMED DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE CAME TO A SUDDEN SCREECHING HALT AND WOULD NOT MOVE. THE ERROR MESSAGE AGAIN STATED GEAR BOX FAILURE. WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER.

Owner report 10947579 · 2017-01-25 (January 25, 2017)

THIS IS MY FIRST RANGE ROVER AND WAS VERY EXCITED ABOUT THE STYLE AND LOOK OF MY CAR.. I'VE OWNED MANY OTHER CAR MODELS, BUT THIS HAS BY FAR BEEN MY FAVORITE. HOWEVER, I HAVE NEVER HAD THE COLORING ON THE CAR BRAND FADE. THE "R" ON RANGE ROVER, IN THE FRONT, IS ALMOST COMPLETELY BLACK. MY CAR IS STILL FAIRLY NEW AND THIS DISCOLORATION MAKES IT LOOK TACKY. WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THIS? THIS IS A LUXURY CAR AND SHOULD NOT TARNISH THIS QUICKLY. IT'S THE NAME, SHOULDN'T IT REPRESENT QUALITY?

I WAS TOLD IT MAY BE A BLOWN MOTOR BUT AFTER ADDITIONAL DIAGNOSIS IT WAS THE DETERMINED TO BE THAT THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED WITH THE TENSIONER. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 83,000 MILES ON IT.

Recall history

2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

14V155000 · Suspension:Rear

Reported: 2014-03-31 (March 31, 2014)

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2014 Range Rover Evoque vehicles manufactured November 27, 2013 and December 4, 2013. The bolts connecting the right hand rear suspension link arm may have been damaged during vehicle production.

Consequence: The damaged bolts may fail, allowing the link arm to separate from the vehicle, resulting in a loss of control and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will replace the connecting bolts for the right hand rear suspension link arm, free of charge. The recall began on April 28, 2014. Land Rover's number for this recall is P040.

Reported: 2016-08-23 (August 23, 2016)

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LCC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2015 Discovery Sport manufactured September 17, 2014 through November 3, 2014 and 2014-2015 Range Rover Evoque vehicles manufactured July 15, 2013 through July 1, 2015. In the affected vehicles the transmission sensor clusters may have insufficient crimps in the transmission wire harness, and as a result, the transmission may unexpectedly shift to neutral.

Consequence: If the vehicle unexpectedly shifts to neutral, there is an increased risk of a crash.

Remedy: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the automatic transmission serial number and if required, will update the transmission software to prevent the transmission from shifting into neutral due to a faulty crimp, free of charge. The recall is expected to began October 14, 2016. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is P091.
