TOWMAX STR TIRE, BELT FAILURE. WHILE PERFORMING ROUTINE MAINTENCE CHECKS ON BRAKES, SPRINGS AND HUBS, TIRE WAS TAKEN OFF UNIT TO ACCESS THESE COMPONENTS. UPON REMOVAL THE TIRE WAS EXAMINED AND FOUND TO BE OUT OF ROUND AND HAVE A BLISTER WITH TORN RUBBER ON THE INSIDE WALL. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION THE BELTS SEEM TO HAVE LET GO AND THE TIRE IS NOW FULLY ROUNDED WHERE IT CONTACTS THE ROAD. IN NOV.2014 WE PURCHASED A NEW 2014 JAYCO 5TH WHEEL. ON OUR NEXT TRIP WITH LESS THAN 7000 MILES ON OUR TIRES, AT RECOMMENDED TIRES PRESSURE 65 PSI. AT 11 MILES FROM HOME WE HAD A LEFT REAR TIRE BLOW OUT AT 50 MPH WITH MINIMUM DAMAGE. TWO DAYS LATER INTO OUR TRIP, THE RIGHT REAR TIRE BLOW OUT AT 60 MPH CAUSING MAJOR DAMAGE. THREAD HAD SEPARATED ALL THE WAY AROUND BOTH TIRES. THE TIRES WERE POWER KING TOWMAX STR ST225/75R15D.

WE WERE JUST LEAVING AZ IN APRIL 2016 TRAVELING NORTH ON A FREEWAY AT 65 MPH WHEN THE PASSENGER TIRE ON OUR 2014 JAYCO EAGLE PREMIER FIFTH WHEEL EXPLODED. I HAVE A TIRE MONITORING SYSTEM ON THE TIRES AND EVERYTHING LOOKED GOOD PRIOR TO THE BLOWOUT. THE TIRES ARE TOWMAX 235X80X16. I CHANGED THE TIRE AND PROCEEDED DOWN THE SAME HIGHWAY. ABOUT 8 MILES LATER THE TIRE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE BLEW. SINCE MY SPARE WAS ALREADY IN USE I HAD TO LIMP DOWN THE HIGHWAY 6 MILES ON THE SHOULDER TO GET TO AN EXIT WHERE I COULD SAFELY GET OFF THE ROAD. THE TOWMAX T…

I WAS TRAVELING NORTH ON THE NY THRUWAY IN 85+ WEATHER. IT WAS 2 PM THE ROADWAY WAS CLEAR OF DEBRIS. THE PASSENGER SIDE, REAR AXLE TIRE INSTANTLY DEFLATED. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. A GUARDRAIL PREVENTED ME FROM ACCESSING THE TIRE. AS A RESULT I HAD TO MOVE DOWN THE EXTREMELY NARROW SHOULDER UNTIL THE GUARDRAIL ENDED (APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES). Reported: 2013-04-30 (April 30, 2013)
Jayco is recalling certain model year 2013-14 Eagle Premiere, Jay Feather Ultra Lite, Jay Flight, Jay Flight Swift, Octane, and White Hawk; model year 2013 Eagle, Eagle HT, Jay Flight Bungalow, Jay Flight Destination, Pinnacle, Redhawk and Seismic; and model year 2014 Precept recreational vehicles. In these vehicles, if the awning installation sequence is not completely followed, the awning motor may unknowingly become damaged.
Consequence: If motor damage occurs, it is possible that the awning can unfurl unexpectedly, either while the motorhome is at rest or while in transit, increasing the risk of personal injury or a vehicle crash.
Remedy: Jayco will notify owners and dealers will inspect and replace the awning motor free of charge. The recall began on May 23, 2013. Owners may contact Jacyo at 1-800-283-8267 for more information.

Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Seneca, Pinnacle, and Eagle Premier, and 2014 Precept motorhomes and fifth wheels manufactured January 14, 2013, through August 26, 2013, and equipped with Electrolux/Frigidaire KG series microwaves, models CFMV152CLB and CFMV154CLS, manufactured January 27, 2013, through April 10, 2013, in the serial number range KG30607951 through KG31600670. In the affected vehicles, the microwave may start on its own and begin heating when unattended.
Consequence: If the microwave starts on its own and there are contents inside, a fire could result.
Remedy: Jayco will notify owners, and authorized Electrolux service technicians will replace the membrane/keypad component, free of charge. The recall will begin on May 7, 2014. Owners may contact Jayco Customer Service by calling 1-800-283-8267. Note: Owners are advised to leave the microwave unplugged when not in use.

Reported: 2015-05-07 (May 7, 2015)
Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Seismic Pinnacle and Eagle Premier recreational trailers manufactured April 3, 2013, to February 27, 2015. In the affected vehicles, a rivet for the quad entry steps may shear and fail, causing the steps to give when being used.
Consequence: If the rivet shears under occupant load, the occupant may fall, increasing the risk of personal injury.
Remedy: Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will replace the defective rivets with bolts, free of charge. The recall began on June 4, 2015. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267.
