CPSC: X1350850. 2009 JAYCO JAY FLIGHT CAMPER. CONSUMER STATED THAT THE REAR HINGE ROD ON THE MANUALLY FOLDING ENTRY/EXIT STEPS FAILED. *LN THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE HINGE ROD WAS TOO SMALL FOR THE LOAD IT CARRIED. EXAMINATION OF THE BREAK, REVEALED MULTIPLE STRESS FRACTURES. ONCE THE ROD FRACTURE HAD PROGRESSED FAR ENOUGH, THE REMAINING STEEL BROKE IN ONE TOTAL FAILURE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JAYCO TRAVEL TRAILER JAY FLIGHT. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10615613 (STRUCTURE). THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIR PERFORMED; HOWEVER, THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE AND HE COULD NOT GET IN TOUCH WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
