TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1994 JAGUAR XJ12. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED A LEAK IN THE COOLANT EXPANSION TANK ALONG THE SEAM WELD. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE RADIATOR FLUID LEAKED AND THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. RECALL SERVICE # 5451 WAS FOUND ON AUTOZONE.COM (ALLDATA). THE DEALER WILL DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE ON JULY 13, 2007, PER THE RECALL NOTICE. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 71,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.

THE SELF-LEVELING SUSPENSION SYSTEM FAILED. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIPS, THERE IS NOT A REMEDY FOR THIS FAILED SYSTEM OTHER THAN TO REPLACED IT WITH THE SAME SYSTEM. JAGUAR MADE REPLACEMENTS KITS FOR THE XJ6 BUT NOT FOR THE XJ12

Reported: 1998-10-27 (October 27, 1998)

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE HOOD LINER CAN SAG AND INTERFERE WITH THE THROTTLE LINKAGE.

Consequence: THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE HIGH ENGINE IDLE SPEED, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPAIR THE HOOD LINER.
