20V261000 · Equipment:Mechanical:Wrecker And Wheel Lift Devices
Reported: 2020-05-08 (May 8, 2020)
Maintainer Corporation of Iowa, Inc. (Maintainer) is recalling certain modified 2019-2020 International CV 515 and Chevrolet Silverado tow vehicles equipped with Allison 2700 series transmissions with Chelsea Power Take Offs (PTO). The PTOs were installed incorrectly and as a result, the attachment hardware may loosen over time.
Consequence: If the PTO attachment hardware loosens it could cause a loss of transmission fluid which may result in the rear wheel locking up, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Maintainer will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the PTO and install a new attachment stud kit, free of charge. The recall began June 9, 2020. Owners may contact Maintainer customer service at 1-800-831-8588.
