As I’m driving 75 MPH, my car slows down and on the dash board it reads 20 MPH LIMIT. I’m on the Expressway and, prayerfully, by putting on my HAZARD BLINKERS, I pull over, wherever it’s safe, turn car off, restart the car and then it’s fine. Front left bumper panel needs to be clipped down/manufactured better. Keeps/stays popped out. Pushing it in does not work. Multiple other 2024 Sonata drivers having similar issues

The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while cleaning the vehicle, he became aware that the front bumper had detached. The contact stated that the rear bumper had also detached. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and the contact was informed that the failure was a known issue. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,500.

The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to complete a left turn, the Forward Collision Avoidance system abruptly activated, applying Automatic Emergency Braking, bringing the vehicle to a complete stop. The vehicle speedometer is occasionally 5mph off. When I first get into the vehicle after it’s been sitting for a while and drive around, the speedometer works perfectly. If I shut the vehicle off while getting gas, running an errand or something similar that involves the vehicle sitting for a semi-short period of time, the speedometer will be 5mph off when driving. The speedometer is not always accurate. About 75-80% of the time at highway speeds the speedometer shows 4mph higher than WAZE. While I understand this could be a WAZE issue itself, I have completed the following test. I was driving at highway speed with my wife following me in her vehicle. My speedometer is 4MPH faster than WAZE in my car, WAZE in her car and her speedometer. My WAZE, her WAZE and her speedometer all matched exactly. This is not a 1 time thing, it happens way more often than not.

This has happened three or four times now while I have been driving. While driving, my electrical system will "black out"/"power down"/"shut off." Everything on my dashboard turns off/goes black. My lights turn off. It is like my car shuts down for 2-4 seconds, then turns back on and I can continue to drive. There is no warning, sound, or anything. My car will just abruptly shut off. The front and rear bumpers of the 2024 Hyundai Sonata have an issue with the bumper brackets. The defective bumper brackets are causing many people's front and rear bumpers to pop out. While these have mostly been 1/8th inch popping off so far, my concern is this may become a bigger hazard as these cars age. Facebook groups with Hyundai Sonata owners have discussed this being a common issue. Those who have had their dealers replace the bumpers/bumper brackets still have recurring issues.

24V583000 · Exterior Lighting:Brake Lights
Reported: 2024-08-07 (August 7, 2024)
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2024 Hyundai Sonata vehicles. The software for the brake lights may cause the brake lights to flash and not illuminate properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Consequence: Flashing brake lights may cause confusion for other drivers on the road, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the rear brake light software, free of charge. Additionally, Hyundai will release the software update over-the-air (OTA). Owner notification letters were mailed September 12, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 267.
