The vehicle failed to shift out of first gear. Additionally, while in fourth gear the vehicle shifted to seventh gear independently. Motorcycle was bought new in 2023 February. In April of 2024. There is a internal rattling noise at the rear of the engine between the transmission and engine area when the motorcycle. Downshifts. I called the dealer right away and was told to stop riding it. The soonest they could get me on the schedule was the end of May. The bike had just over 1,000 mi. At this time. The contact owns a 2019 Honda GL1800. The contact stated that while attempting to start the motorcycle or while accelerating from a stationary position, the motorcycle occasionally stalled. There were no warning lights illuminated. The motorcycle was taken to a local dealer, where the motorcycle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that no fault codes were retrieved and the failure was found with the motorcycle. The motorcycle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 34,000.

On XXX, while I was operating my 2019 Honda Gold Wing Tour DCT (GL1800D, VIN [XXX]) on the freeway at approximately ~26k miles, the motorcycle suddenly lost drive and came to a stop and could not be restarted, leaving me stranded on the freeway , the same type of sudden power-loss hazard that Safety Recall 24V-820 was issued to prevent. 24V113000 · Fuel System, Gasoline:Delivery:Fuel Pump
Reported: 2024-02-15 (February 15, 2024)
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2024 GL1800 (Goldwing), CBR600RR, and 2018-2019 CBR1000RR motorcycles. The fuel pump impellers may have been improperly molded, which can cause them to deform and result in fuel pump failure.
Consequence: Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel pump module as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed June 19, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's numbers for this recall are KP8, KP9, KQ0, and KQ1.

Reported: 2024-10-31 (October 31, 2024)
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2021 GL1800 Goldwing motorcycles. The primary drive gear bolt on the crankshaft may break, which can result in an engine stall and lock up the rear wheel.
Consequence: An engine stall and rear wheel lockup can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the primary drive gear bolt, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 30, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is KQ9.
