VEHICLE: 2002 ROADTREK MOTOR HOME ON CHEVROLET 3500 CHASSIS. WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE AT ABOUT 70MPH, LEFT REAR TIRE TREAD SEPARATED (DID NOT BLOWOUT!) UPON STOPING AND INSPECTION, APPROXIMATELY 12 INCHES OF TREAD WERE BULGING ON INSIDE OF TREAD. VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 18,120 MILES ON IT AND IS TWO YEARS OLD. TIRE WAS CHANGED AND ULTIMATELY REPLACED BY FIRESTONE DEALER (KINGSPORT, TN) DAMAGED TIRE WAS LEFT WITH DEALER.*AK

ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES BUILT ON CHEVROLET G-VAN CHASSIS, IT IS POSSIBLE, THAT ON SOME UNITS, THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WAS NOT ASSEMBLED CORRECTLY TO THE STRUCTURAL MEMBER OF THE VEHICLE. THE SWIVEL PLATE MAY NOT BE ATTACHED TO THE BOLT HOLDING THE RETRACTOR ASSEMBLY.
Consequence: IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE SEAT OCCUPANT MAY NOT BE PROPERLY RESTRAINED INCREASING THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REMOVE AND REINSTALL THE SWIVEL PLATE CORRECTLY. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JULY 25, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT HOME & PARK AT 1-888-762-3873.
