TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HOLIDAY RAMBLER ENDEAVOR. AFTER RETURNING FROM SOUTH CAROLINA, THE CONTACT'S SON IN-LAW NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. HE OPENED THE SIDE COMPARTMENT AND FLAMES APPEARED. A FIRE EXTINGUISHER WAS USED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE FOLLOWING MORNING, THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY ADVISED HIM TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE ALPINHAUS RV DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO GET A TECHNICIAN TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER CALLED THE CONTACT AND STATED…

ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH ATWOOD SEALED BURNER RANGES, THE RANGE AND SLIDE-IN BURNER TUBES LEADING FROM THE GAS MANIFOLD TO THE BURNER HEADS HAD A DEPRESSION OR 'KINK' IN THE EXTERIOR BEND RESTRICTING PROPER AIRFLOW AND GAS MIXTURE.
Consequence: THIS CONDITION COULD RESULT IN CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING.
Remedy: MONACO IS WORKING WITH ATWOOD TO HAVE THE TUBES REPLACED ON THESE RANGES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 14, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT ATWOOD AT 1-800-348-7418 OR MONACO AT 1-800-685-6545.

KONGSBERG POWER PRODUCTS SYSTEMS I, INC., (KPPS) IS RECALLING ON BEHALF OF MONACO COACH CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2008-2010 MOTOR HOMES MANUFACTURED AFTER APRIL 2007 AND EQUIPPED WITH PNEUMATIC AND HYDRAULIC ADJUSTABLE BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLIES SUPPLIED BY KPPS. THE DRIVE PIN WHICH SECURES THE BRAKE PEDAL ARM TO THE BALANCE OF THE ASSEMBLY MAY BECOME DISENGAGED, THIS MAY CAUSE A REDUCTION IN VEHICLE BRAKING AND/OR CAUSE THE BRAKE PEDAL TO MOVE OUT OF POSITION AND INTERFERE WITH THROTTLE PEDAL FUNCTION.
Consequence: A REDUCTION IN BRAKING OR INTERFERENCE WITH THE THROTTLE PEDAL COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
Remedy: KPPS WILL PROVIDE A CLAMP ASSEMBLY KIT ALONG WITH INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 16, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KPPS AT 1-877-485-6647.
